Agrium's new Journey 2050 program launched this past September as a pilot with Calgary junior high schools at the Agrium Western Event Centre at Stampede Park. Since then, more than 2,000 students have gone through the program and the feedback has been outstanding. The Number-one question asked by students and teachers was, "When can I download the games?" The wait is over. The entertaining, yet educational game is now available for free at the App store for your iPad. An iPhone version and additional device functionality is in development. Sustainability Report - Now Available |
The world's population is predicted to reach nine billion by the year 2050. These numbers pose the most pressing sustainability challenge facing the world today. How will the planet sustainably feed this number of people with its dwindling resource of arable land?
Agrium is actively engaged, every day, in helping meet this challenge. Agrium produces, markets, and distributes our agricultural products an  d services thoughtfully and responsibly, with the goal of enabling growers around the world to sustainably intensify the productivity of their land.
Our 2012 - 2013 Sustainability Report examines the many ways Agrium is committed to this challenge. From the innovative and competitive crop inputs that we manufacture and market, to further support with advanced agronomic services and advice - Agrium is involved from ground to grower. Additionally, our commitment to the Global 4R Nutrient Stewardship framework guides us in our sustainability strategy of reducing the environmental impact of our products.

Education Portal Launched |
On e website, hundreds of agriculture education programs and links!
Agrium's education portal was recently redesigned as a one -stop-shop for education programs, news stories and resources on topics such as environmental stewardship, farm safety, nutrient stewardship and sustainable agriculture. Featured programs are developed in partnership with not-for-profit organizations and schools. The goal is to offer teachers and students a portal to explore incredible science based, curriculum linked programs. Our goal is to teach sustainable practices that result in long-term positive change. By collaborating with like-minded partners we can help extend the reach and evolve everyone's programs. Millennium Villages Project - Mayange |
Me  et Absalom, a traditional farmer from Mayange, Rwanda. Prior to 2009, Absalom had no formal training in farming practices. The Millennium Villages Project, with support from Agrium came to his community and provided that educational support along with a supply of quality fertilizer. Absalom now benefits from greater harvest and crop yields. It has made a significant improvement to the standard of living for his family. Teaching Youth about Farm Safety |
Since 2002, Agrium's partnership with the Progressive Agriculture Foundation helps teach youth about farm safety. Each year across the U.S. and Canada, more than 400 Safety Days reach about 80,000 youth and 20,000 volunteers, teaching the them  how to be safe and healthy everyday on farms and in rural communities. Progressive Agriculture Foundation is a non-profit organization, providing resources and training for communities to conduct their own one-day Progressive Agriculture Safety DayŽ programs.
The Safety Days center around 26 crucial farm/home safety and health education lessons presented in a way that is fun and impactful to youth ages 8-13 years old. Communities choose eight to ten of the safety lessons that are most relevant for their area. Click here to find out the top five Safety Day lessons. |
