Dear Library Member,
Action-packed Broadcast Bootcamp will teach you all the basics of media you need to know. From writing to shooting a piece, video editing, audio editing, and production leadership skills, you will be a broadcast pro after this crash course. The program runs every Wednesday, July 27-August 24 from 6:30-8 pm. Grades 6-12 only. Registration is required and participants must be able to attend all 5 sessions. Program presented by Kidz Hub Media Network. Join in with your family and friends to play a life size game of Sorry! on Saturday from 2:30-4 pm. The game title comes from the many ways in which a player can negate the progress of another, while issuing an apologetic "Sorry!". Our Youth Services librarians and teen volunteers have been hard at work creating this game for our summer reading effort. Come play on Saturday and move your playing piece around the board! Get prepared for your big interview and make a great impression! Online voice and video conferencing software Skype is a very popular and growing way to interview remotely. Learn tips and tricks to get the most from Skype, be comfortable interviewing online, and present your best self at Interviewing With Skype on Wednesday at 7 pm. No registration required. Learn how to easily recreate a few of the delicious smoothies you enjoy at restaurants and health clubs at Son of Smoothies on Thursday at 7 pm! Adults, kids and teens are welcome. Registration is required. Important note: dairy, tree nuts and other possible allergens may be used. Please note any allergies in the comments field of the registration form. Meet the Artist: Pablo Picasso art history lecture will detail the life and major works (both in painting and sculpture) of the co-founder of the cubist art movement, known as one of the greatest and most influential artists of all time. No registration required. Just drop in Thursday at 10:30 am! Dr. Ilissa Ocko is a Princeton University educated climatologist. She researches the implications of short-lived climate pollutants on climate change and provides scientific guidance for climate-related work. Join us on Sunday at 2 pm as Dr. Ocko talks about what it's like to be a climatologist. Then, try to determine your own solutions to reducing climate change in a fun-filled team activity of Climate Wedges!
