Dear Library Member,
Anansi and the Moss Covered Rock is an exciting program that is part touring play and part interactive workshop. Especially designed for families with children ages 3-9 years, this play is the story of the trickster spider of African folklore, Anansi, as he plays a joke on animal friends. The children will play the sound effects of the moss-covered rock. The Youth Stages actor/educator will keep families laughing as he plays the various animals in the story: spider, lion, elephant, zebra, giraffe, hippopotamus, rhinoceros, and little bush deer! Join us Saturday at 3 pm for this delightful play.
As another part of our Dia grant, we've added Launchpad tablet devices to our collection of learning materials for today's gadget savvy kids. Each tablet comes pre-packaged with either science, math or reading apps aimed at different age groups. Launchpads also have specific themes, such as outer space, and a super-easy interface that kids and parents can easily grasp. The tablets themselves are built to last, with tough plastic cases and a rubber bumper. Most of the Launchpads are able to be checked out on an adult Library card for one week. Come and take one for a test drive!
