Pictured above is our new quick charge station for your convenience. The station can charge both Apple and Android tablet and mobile devices in a fraction of the normal time. The station is located near the entrance of the Library. More charging solutions are coming.
On Monday, February 15, the front entrance areas of the Library are slated to receive new carpeting. The next areas to be worked on will be the section in front of the Passport Office and from there, the public computer area. Many public computers could be out of service for a day or two late in the week . We will have some alternative devices available for you to use which work through our wireless network. Passport service should not be interrupted. We are sorry for any inconvenience and we're working hard to minimize all service interruptions.
Well known author Frank Russo will discuss his book The Cooperstown Chronicles on Saturday, February 20 at 2 pm. Learn about some of baseball's most colorful personalities, lives and careers. A book signing will take place after the presentation.
We're also very pleased to present African American Genealogy on Sunday, February 21 at 2 pm. A panel of presenters from the AAHGS (Afro-American Historical and Genealogical Society) will present on early African American family history dating back to the 18th century. The Library offers Ancestry.com as another genealogical resource.
There are two health-related programs this week: Tai Chi Chuan on Wednesday at 7 pm with instructor Andy Lee and A Healthy Heart and You on Friday at 10:30 am presented by Raritan Bay Medical Center RN and Mobile Intensive Care Paramedic Todd Kaplan. Both programs present strategies to foster and maintain good health.
For teens only, come to Mug Meals on Thursday, February 18 at 7 pm. Learn how to cook delicious and simple meals for one using just the microwave and a mug! You'll be making breakfast, lunch and dessert options. Registration required.
Offered for the first time and taught by a systems engineer, Ethical Hacking will take place on Sunday, February 21 at 3 pm. The purpose of ethical hacking is to assess vulnerabilities of a computer system in order to protect it. This intro class will explain why ethical hacking is needed. A must attend for anyone interested in protecting their personal or business computers. Registration required.
