Learn about Freecycle, Craigslist, and other online communities that are transforming how we exchange things in our Online Swaps class. Don't spend top dollar on stuff you'll never use again. Many of these sites are free to join and help the environment by facilitating the exchange rather than the disposal of goods. Please join us on Wednesday, November 18 at 7 pm for this exciting new class.
We're also very pleased to have author Joanne Hamilton Rajoppi talk about her book New Brunswick and the Civil War on Wednesday, November 18 at 7 pm. Ms. Rajoppi will present fascinating stories of New Brunswick's young soldiers told through letters written to their loved ones. The letters describe their struggles to survive amid battles and close encounters with death. She will also talk about the young soldiers' difficult transition back to civilian life which is still so often true today. Copies of her book will be available for signing.
Calling all teens! No experience? No problem! Learn to set up a basic resume and get that job, even if you haven't had any previous work experience at the Teen Resume Workshop. This valuable workshop is back by popular demand and is being offered on Thursday, November 19 at 7 pm. Just drop in!
On Saturday, November 21 at 2:30 pm the Library offers its first Stuffed Animal Checkup program. Bring your favorite stuffed animal to our checkup clinic! Move from station to station, weighing them, listening to their 'heart', etc. This fun program is for children of all ages.
