Kids and Teens Events

Dear Library Member,

Mostly Motown is a review of classic rhythm and blues and soul of the 1960s and 70s. Songstress Rhonda Denet and the Silver Fox Duo will celebrate a time when this primarily African-American genre crossed over to mainstream audiences.

Featured songs were made famous by female artists Aretha Franklin, Martha & The Vandellas, Diana Ross & The Supremes, Etta James, Gladys Knight, Dionne Warwick, Dusty Springfield and Roberta Flack, as well as male artists Ray Charles, Smokey Robinson, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye and Al Greene.

Vocalist and band leader Rhonda Denét will present her unique interpretations of these classic songs. Through the music, the magic and the message, there is something for everyone.  This concert is funded by The Friends of the Old Bridge Public Library. Doors open at 2:15 pm on Saturday, November 14.

Most of us use Google and other search engines to do research but few of us know the real power of these tools.  Internet Search Secrets on Thursday at 2:30 pm will teach you tips and tricks to get the most out of your Internet searches. Learn shortcuts and strategies to find the information that you need.  This class will benefit students, casual searchers and business people alike.

Fandom Trivia Night takes place on Wednesday, November 11 at 7pm and is open to grades 6-12. Form a team, answer questions in different categories, win prizes. This trivia night is all about popular fandoms, so if you have a favorite Weasley or spend all day watching Youtube, come play!

On Thursday, Nov 12 we have Pokemon Game Night for grades 4-12. Bring in your own Pokemon video games and/or Pokemon cards and you can battle and trade Pokemon with friends.

Alphabet Art is on Friday the 13th from 11 am to 12 pm.  Children ages 2 and up can drop in with an adult to make an easy alphabet-themed craft. This Friday's craft is brought to you by the Letter "V".

Also on Friday the 13th is our Drop-in-Craft at 7pm for all ages.  This week's theme is  Leaf Animals!

Sensory Storytime returns on Saturday, November 14 at 2pm.  This storytime is for children whose special needs make it challenging for them to attend our regular storytimes. Please register

Thanks for continuing to bear with us during our roof replacement.

Have a wonderful week and see you in the Library!

Regards,
Nancy Cohen, Library Director
