Dear Library Member,

I'm extremely pleased to announce that the project to replace the Library's roof will be starting this week!  Following this project, the Library will be undertaking other refurbishment efforts to improve our appearance and better serve the community. Much of the work will be done prior to the Library's opening but you may hear some minor activity into the afternoon.  Thanks for your patience during this project which is expected to last 3-4 weeks.

The Friends of the Library will present their Holiday Book Sale starting Friday, October 30 from 10 am to 8:30 pm.  This is a perfect time to pick up books and DVDs for gifts and your own pleasure.  All proceeds assist the Library in providing services to the community.  The sale  will run through Thursday, November 5.  Please check the calendar below for all hours.  Thank you, Friends.

Continuing with our focus on new classes in the technology area, join us for the Pixlr: Online Photo Editing class on Tuesday at 2:30 pm.  Pixlr is a cloud-based set of image tools and utilities, including a number of photo editors, a screen grabber browser extension, and a photo sharing service. While the suite was intended for non-professionals, the apps range from simple to advanced photo editing. Time magazine put Pixlr on its list of the top 50 websites of 2013 Please register below or call 732-721-5600 x5033.

According to Forbes magazine, small businesses have generated more than 65% of the new jobs created in the U.S. since 1996.  If you are thinking of joining the ranks of small business owners, please attend Starting Your Own Business presented by SCORE on Wednesday, at 7 pm.  You'll learn what you need to succeed including the basics of business plans, business structures, financing, running and growing your business.  This is sure to be of great value to all entrepreneurs.

L'Aura from the New Jersey Ghost Hunters Society will present the Ghost Hunting program on haunted locations in New Jersey and New York City on Thursday at 7 pm.  There are many scary TV programs and movies which are shown in October, but none of them will beat the thrill you will get from the ghost stories L'Aura will tell in person on Thursday night!

Did you know that clubs for adults meet in the Library to socialize and play games like chess, canasta, scrabble, bridge and mah jongg?  The Library also hosts meetings for two adult craft clubs, a children's chess club and the youth Lego Lab on Saturdays.  If you are interested, please consult our calendar for dates and times and just drop in to join the play!  Any questions - just call 732-721-5600 x5033.

Thanks for all the positive feedback about our new web site.  Have a great week and see you in the Library!

Regards,
Nancy Cohen, Library Director
