Idea Farm Classes

Dear Library Member,

On Saturday, September 12 at 2:30 pm Jersey Shore blues singer/songwriter and acoustic guitar master, John Padovano will provide the entertainment for our Second Saturday concert. John has released 18 albums.  Major influences in John's musical career have been his early years growing up in the Ironbound section of Newark and his family's immigrant roots.  He has been likened to the famous Incredible String Band and has performed at venues from coffeehouses and libraries to the Arts Council of Princeton.  Please join us on Saturday at 2:30 pm for an intimate and sophisticated performance.  Free and open to all.

The Library has recently added materials in the Urdu language to the collection.  We welcome suggestions from the community for books to add to this small but growing collection.  If you are interested in Urdu or another language, try our language learning resource. Pronunciator.  Pronunicator covers 80 languages and allows you to learn a language from up to 50 other languages.  It also has English as a Second Language learning.

Eligible for Medicare or approaching eligibility?  Come to Medicare 101 on Wednesday night at 7 pm presented by a certified Medicare agent.  Learn about all the parts of Medicare, how and when to enroll, Part D prescription plans and more.  No registration required.

Carlotta G. Holton, a Chester Township, New Jersey award-winning author and journalist will speak about her interesting life and writing career this Saturday at 12 pm.  The author of fiction works, Salem Pact, Touching the Dead and Vampire Resurrection , as well as the nonfiction Getting Out of Limbo , Carlotta also interviews New York Times bestselling authors who relate their experience and tips on writing, networking and selling books. Authors she has profiled include Tess Gerritson, John Saul, John Lutz, Janet Evanovich, Catherine Coulter, Catherine Petrini, Stuart Woods, Jonathan Mayberry and many more.  Please join us for what will be a fascinating and informative talk.

In the coming week we'll be offering several Idea Farm classes you can register for here.  These include The Safety Class, the basic prerequisite to use makerspace equipment; the Intro to 3D Printing Class; and the extremely popular Raspberry Pi class.  Sign up and learn some new skills!
