Dear Library Member,
Language barriers are among the most formidable obstacles for new arrivals to the United States. This is not a new phenomenon. Back in 1915, Bethlehem Steel, which provided steel for the Golden Gate Bridge among other landmarks, became one of the first American employers to provide free English language instruction to its immigrant workforce. The Library, with the ongoing help of dedicated volunteer tutors, continues its own efforts to provide English language instruction this Fall. Registration for English as a Second Language Classes will begin Monday, August 24. Registration must be done in-person and initially is for Old Bridge residents only. Residents of other communities may be able to register closer to class start, which is September 15. Classes take place at 7pm every Tuesday evening through December 15.
MobilePrint service, coming soon, will allow you to send prints to a Library printer from your home or within the Library from your smartphones, tablets, and computers!Just pick up your printouts at the Library. Watch out for more information about this new service from the Library in the coming weeks!!
