Dear Library Member,

On August 8, the Library welcomes the Monmouth Beach-based band, 5 Factor, performing at 2:30 pm for our Second Saturday concert. A classic rock band which also plays some original songs, the three-member group focuses on humanitarian efforts and has performed at local events benefiting area food banks, St. Ambrose Church in Old Bridge and the Wounded Warriors Project. Please come and enjoy 5 Factor and bring a donation of a personal care product to be distributed by the Old Bridge Food Pantry.

Famous for making the first solo transatlantic airplane flight in 1927 in The Spirit of St. Louis, Charles Lindbergh also made headlines through personal tragedy and political controversies. Paul White of Huntington Reading Group, will present a talk and discussion of Charles Lindbergh, his life, and contributions to science and aviation on Sunday, August 9 at 2 pm.  Please join us for this informative and exciting presentation.

Our Idea Farm makerspace has some great classes coming up this week.  Among them:

  • Drop-In Sewing at 7 pm on Monday
  • Intro to Arduino Robotics/Microcontrollers on Wednesday at 7 pm
  • Teen/Adult Sewing Classes Beginning Friday at 3:30 pm
  • Raspberry Pi Class on Sunday at 2pm.

Garret Gega of the Office of Workforce Development of Middlesex County presents a workshop on job hunting success, resume writing, and interviewing tips on Wednesday at 10 am.   The Library also offers other job seeking resources such as Tutor.com, Career Transitions, Ferguson's Career Guidance and Job & Career Accelerator.  Stop at the Information Desk if you're in the Library or call 732-721-5600 x5033 for help with these resources.

Join the Heroes' Quest scavenger hunt, teens! You'll be given a list of things to find and take picures of around the library.  First to make it back to the starting point with all the pictures wins a prize! Everybody who participates gets to share ice cream while looking at all the crazy pictures. You may work alone or in a group. All participants need to  register and at least one person per group must have something to take pictures with (phone or camera). Thursday at 6:30 pm.  Open to grades 6-12.
