Coming July 1 - Ancestry.com!

Dear Library Member,

Thousands of books, CDs, DVDs and audiobooks will be available for sale starting Tuesday and continuing through June 8 during the Friends of the Library Book Sale. Materials are available for all groups and tastes.  All proceeds raised by this sale, and other events hosted by the Friends, help to support concerts, the summer reading program, workshops and other valuable library programs.  If you are interested in volunteering and becoming a Friend of the Library you may obtain an application at www.oldbridgelibrary.org/Friends.htm or fill one out in the Library.

It's easy to take pictures during vacation, special events or just because you want to, but what do you do with them afterwards?  On Friday, June 12 at 7 pm, an expert will discuss and teach you the many ways to get the files off your digital camera.  He will then talk about some of the ways to get prints of your photos and share them with friends and family.  After this class managing your photos should be a breeze!

Drop-in sewing class continues on Monday, June 1 with our knowledgeable and patient volunteer, Grace.  Join Grace and other students and become proficient in the use of a sewing machine.  In no time you'll be making and altering clothes, curtains, tablecloths, and other items.  Sewing machines will be set up and the Library supplies notions and practice fabric.

Book Buddies is a youth literacy program which pairs a teen with a child to develop reading skills and promote the love of reading in children.  The session in July still has a few openings for both teen volunteers and children.  Teens- sign up today for service credit.  Parents- sign up your child today and help keep their reading skills sharp over the summer!  Get registration forms online at www.oldbridgelibrary.org on the Kids ad Teens pages or come to the Library to sign up.

Family genealogy is something which is important to me, and also to many others in the community.  Starting July 1, you will have access to Ancestry.com in the Library.  Watch out for more information!

Have a wonderful and safe week.  See you in the Library.

Regards,
Nancy Cohen, Library Director
