Dear Library Member,
Upcoming on Saturday, May 9 at 2:30 pm is our Tribute to Roy Orbison Second Saturday Concert. Known for his dark clothes and signature sunglasses, there was an air of mystery to Orbison, also known as "The Big O". He wrote and sang powerful ballads such as Only the Lonely and Crying as well as songs like Claudette recorded by other artists such as the Everly Brothers. Perhaps best known for his hit, Pretty Woman (the film helped make Julia Roberts a star),Orbison's music and style will be interpreted by Chris Roselle and his 3-piece band. Get ready to rock! The show will be filmed by OBTV.
On Wednesday, May 6 at 7 pm, Intro to Robotics Using Arduino Microcontrollers will be taught. This is the beginning class in a series of recurring classes focused on the power and flexibility of Arduino microcontrollers. This class introduces you to a new revolution in robotics which uses Arduino microcontroller "brains" to sense and react to surroundings. Included are examples that will get you off and running! Please register through the link below or call 732-721-5600 x5033 to register or ask questions. When you come to the central Library take a look at the Idea Farm garden and how it is shaping up for its second season of growth and beauty! Thanks to community volunteers, and especially the Rutgers Master Gardeners, the garden promises to be even more spectacular than it was last summer. Coming soon, the fish pond will be rejuvenated with water plants, a pump and mosquito fish! And don't forget about the film classic, Monsoon Wedding tomorrow at 1:30 pm, the first in the Foreign Film Matinee series.
Have a wonderful and safe week and see you in the Library!
