Tech Buddies

Dear Library Member,

Back in 2012 the Library took the opportunity to expand our mission by helping to promote a culture of local authorship when we became the host location for the Garden State Speculative Fiction Writers.

The GSSFW meets at the Library every first Saturday of the month and presents a guest speaker addressing various aspects of writing to help writers succeed.  This Saturday, April 4 at noon, the GSSFW presents author, David Rountree.  Mr. Rountree will speak on the topic of incorporating real science and technology into science fiction and making it credible to readers.

David is a professional member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the Audio Engineering Society, the International Frequency Sensor Association, and is also affiliated with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. He is the author of several works of science fiction and the paranormal. No registration required so just drop in.

Speaking of science and technology, we continue to offer drop-in help sessions with tech savvy teens.  Our Tech Buddies meet on Saturdays from 11 am to 1 pm and on Monday evenings from 6 pm to 8 pm.  They have helped dozens of people understand how to use their  ereaders, smart phones, tablet and laptop computers and other devices.  They can explain the processes of setting up email accounts, uploading and downloading pictures from email, saving files and much, much more.  No appointment necessary, just drop in!

Best wishes and see you in the Library!

Regards,
Nancy Cohen, Library Director
