This Week at Your Library: March 16

Dear Library Member,

The Old Bridge Public Library is honored to be the recipient of a beautiful granite sculpture from New Jersey artist, Blaise Batko.  Mr. Batko also created the impressive and inspiring September 11th Memorial sculpture for the Township of Old Bridge.  We are privileged to have one of Mr. Batko's works of art in our Library.  It has been placed in front of our garden windows for all to enjoy.  Mr. Batko received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Library's Board of Trustees this past Wednesday evening (see photo below).

Did you know?

  • The Library loans Nook e-readers which are loaded with hundreds of classic titles and bestsellers for you to read anytime, anywhere.
  • There are display cases, bulletin boards and wires with hooks just waiting for your artwork and collections to be displayed in the Library.  Call 732-721-5600 x5019 to arrange your showing.
  • If you are unable to read because of vision challenges or cannot hold a book to read it, one of our librarians can certify you to receive talking books or Braille material from the New Jersey State Library.  Magazines too!
  • We loan books and magazines in languages such as Hindi, Russian, Chinese and several others.  Come see what we have.

Take Apart Day Coming Saturday, March 21

Back by popular demand, the Library is holding Take Apart Day again this Saturday from 2-4 pm, to help celebrate the first annual NJMakersDay.  Generously sponsored by Atlantic TV, Take Apart Day is designed to help people gain familiarity with hand tools and learn how machines are designed and work.  In the process, you can create your own sculptures from machine parts.  All ages are welcome.  You can register through the link below.

Let me know what you want from the Library!  Read and be well.
