Vaudeville Comes to Library on Saturday, February 14 |
Dear Library Member,
Vaudeville was made up of comedians, singers, plate-spinners, ventriloquists, dancers, musicians, acrobats, animal trainers, and anyone who could keep an audience's interest for more than three minutes. Beginning in the 1880s and through the 1920s, vaudeville was home to more than 25,000 performers, and was the most popular form of entertainment in America. From the local small-town stage to New York's Palace Theater, vaudeville was an essential part of every community.*
You will be able to experience what a vaudeville show was like at the Library this Saturday, February 14 at 2:30 pm. The duo, Cracked Walnuts, puts on Music of Vaudeville a special program featuring music, stories and humor of stars such as Al Jolson, Fanny Brice and Eddie Cantor. Even though many of their songs were popular at the time of the Titanic's famous voyage, familiar songs like "Carolina in the Morning" or "Shine on Harvest Moon" are still hard to resist singing along with! A very fun time for the entire family!
The 'cloud' is a popular buzzword these days, but what exactly is the cloud? How can it impact what you do, how do you use it, what are the concerns and requirements for using the cloud? These are some of the questions to be answered in this class along with practical instruction on how to set up a cloud account for personal and small business environments. There are still a couple of spots open for this class on Sunday, February 15 at 2pm. Register at the link below.
Wishing you a safe and rewarding week. See you at the Library!
Regards,
