The Idea Farm launches June 7th!

After a lot of preparation, we're ready to launch the Idea Farm makerspace project on June 7th, from 1pm to 3pm! The Old Bridge Library Idea Farm is a community workshop and demonstration garden designed to encourage creation, imagination, and exploration.

We hope you mark this on your calendars and tell your friends. Our librarians and volunteers will be taking signups for our first month of demonstrations and introductory programs. Over the months ahead we will be offering a lot of programs designed to put creative skills in your hands. Our current plans include:
  • Kitchen Arts: Herb infusion techniques, Pickling, Dehydrator Basics
  • 3D Printing: Intro to 3D Printing, Basic 3D Design, TinkerCAD, Sculptris
  • Garden Arts: Composting, Limited Space Gardening
  • Microcontrollers and Hobby Electronics: Introduction to Arduino, Soldering Basics
  • Robotics: Lego Mindstorms Summer Bootcamp for Tweens+, Arduino Robotics
  • Handicrafts: Intro to Sewing, Buttonmaking Basics
This is just a small sample of what we will be presenting the public. Various new programs and workshops are in development, and we will have our summer schedule in place at our June 7th Launch.

We hope to see you and your friends there! Spread the word!

Regards,
