This Week At Your Library: April 21
Universal Class and You!

This Wednesday at 2pm, we have a special program for folks - an introduction to Universal Class, an online class resource.

As a library member, you have free access to these online classes from Universal Class via our website.

From the over 500 classes, you can choose among course in Parenting, Dog Training, Accounting, Microsoft Office, Preparation for a variety of tests and more.

This Wednesday, a trainer from Universal Class will be on hand to give an overview of Universal Class, and highlight some of the ways it can supplement your education, assist in a career change, or enrich your day-to-day life.

In other news, we are hard at work putting together our Idea Farm Makerspace and Garden! We have received all of our equipment and we are now learning how to use it as we put together our demonstrations, classes, and safety courses for the public.

We are looking to launch in late May with our demonstrations and introductory classes, with expanded offerings over the summer.

We hope to introduce you to making a wide range of things in our community workshop and garden space.
Among the tools and classes we will be presenting will be:
  • Makerbot Replicator 5th Generation 3D printer
  • 3D Scanner
  • Vinyl Cutter and Heat Press
  • Button maker
  • Lego Robotics Kits and Robotics Summer Camp
  • Sewing Machine
  • Soldering Station
  • Dehydrator Skills
  • Herb infusion of Oils and Vinegars
  • Gardening Skills
  • Arduino microcontrollers
We will have more information on the Idea Farm for you in the upcoming weeks, and also roll out our first Idea Farm newsletter.

Regards,
Darren Miguez, Library Director
