Open Mike Night, New Projects, Book Sale and Community Emergency Response Class!
Dear Library Member, 
 
We hope that if you have a talent or are of an artistic inclination, you'll consider attending our Coffeehouse and Open Mike Night, coming up on February 1st. As with all of our programs, it is free and open to the public. Besides local talent and performance, we will also have coffee, tea, and cocoa available to complete the coffeehouse experience.

The Half-Price Book Moving Sale is still going on! You have until the end of the month to take advantage of the sale, so please come down and browse!

COMMUNITY EMERGENCY RESPONSE CLASS
@ OLD BRIDGE LIBRARY 2/24-4/17

In cooperation with the Old Bridge Office of Emergency Management, the Library will be hosting an 8 week class to train members of the community to be part of the Community Emergency Response Team.
What do CERT members learn? Among other things:
  • How to search for lost or kidnapped children
  • Identify planning and size-up requirements for potential search and rescue situations  
  • How to staff Emergency Operations Centers and monitor events
  • Conduct triage under simulated conditions
  • How to apply techniques for opening airways, controlling bleeding and treating shock
  • Identify and reduce potential fire hazards in their homes and workplaces
  • How to prepare themselves for a disaster
  • How to identify and reduce potential fire hazards in their homes and workplaces  
  • Assist Red Cross and other relief organizations with mass care
In a crisis, our community is only as strong as our training and knowledge. We encourange community minded Library Members to take this class.
