Book Buddies and ESL Classes Returning Soon! |
Dear Library Member,
We are gearing up for a new school year, and one thing making a return will be our popular Book Buddies program on October 1st. This program pairs teen mentors with elementary school early readers; the teen mentor offers support and assistance with reading and vocabulary, while the reader gets to practice their reading skills. Many people have been eagerly awaiting the return of this program, and thanks to teen volunteers we will see it return. Teens can download an application here, while child readers in grades 1 through 5 can download an application here. Applications are accepted until September 18th.
Monday is the start of registration for our ESL classes. If you know of someone who would be interested in learning English, please forward this email to them and point out the link below - ESL classes are free! Thanks to a dedicated group of volunteers, we have for years had Old Bridge residents from a wide variety of backgrounds increasing their English language skills.
Our Summer Reading Clubs are almost over! Make sure to get your last books and reviews turned in for whatever program you're taking part in! If you're coming back from vacation, you can still take part and submit books you've read over the summer. Hurry, though, as time is running out - September 8th is the last day we'll be accepting Summer Reading entries for children and teens, while adults will need to get their last logs in by August 31st.
We hope to see you soon!
