This Week At Your Library...
|
August Concert, Movies, Clubs, and Teen Lock-In... |
Dear Library Member,
August is always a busy time of year at libraries across the nation. Students are getting their s ummer reading assignments completed, library members are finishing off their summer reading club activities, people looking to travel are processing passports in our Passport Acceptance Desk, and librarians are planning the programs for the Fall and Winter.
For my part, the Board of Trustees and I have been working on numerous improvements to the Library that we hope to see happen over the next few months. These are the result of community input during our strategic planning process. We will see an upgrade to our wifi network early in the Fall, and the implementation of new study room guidelines so that more members of the Old Bridge community can have a chance to book a private study room on any given day. Both of these items were of interest to the community, and we are happy to be working on making them happen.
As we assemble the results of our focus groups and town meeting, the Library will be implementing other improvements and new initiatives to better serve you. Thank you for your continued support and membership in the Old Bridge Public Library
P.S.: Don't forget to vote for your favorites in the Best of the Best! Restaurants, parks, libraries and so on - let the county know your favorites! A link to the award survey is at left. Voting ends August 31st. |

"I received the fundamentals of my education in school, but that was not enough. My real education, the superstructure, the details, the true architecture, I got out of the public library. For an impoverished child whose family could not afford to buy books, the library was the open door to wonder and achievement, and I can never be sufficiently grateful that I had the wit to charge through that door and make the most of it."
