Our 2015 Celebrate Springfield Annual Dinner

The date has been set--Thursday, March 12, 2015--and plans are well underway for our 4th Annual Celebrate Springfield Dinner.

We are planning a terrific evening to celebrate progress in the City toward revitalization and the many projects underway that shine a light on the bright future ahead.

The event will feature a reception beginning at 6pm including music by the Eric Bascom Trio, hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar, and silent and chance auction events.  Dinner at 7pm will include a brief program and awards presented to our Partners In Progress honorees (to be announced soon!). We are also pleased to have among our guests, Mayor Domenic Sarno who will provide welcoming remarks; as well as new Secretary of Housing and Economic Development for the Commonwealth, Jay Ash who will share brief greetings as a part of the program.

Corridor Storefront Improvement Grants

Work was recently completed and grants awarded to support storefront improvement projects for two properties in Springfield.

Islazul Realty, LLC was provided a grant of $7,963 to support work being done for the renovation of a building located at 2547 Main Street.  The project includes the installation of large windows, a door, lighting and an awning to convert the old space into professional office space to attract a service business to the North End.

Glory, Inc. was awarded a $20,000 grant to support facade improvements to their new location in the South End, located at 595 Main Street. Funds provided were used to install windows, signage and awnings for the longtime downtown business relocating from their 1134 Main Street location. Glory is a retail store featuring clothing and shoes for the entire family.
