Happy Chinese New Year!

This year to celebrate the incoming year of the sheep, we at CCRR joined the celebrations at Lansdowne's Lunar New Years Festival on February 21st. There was music, dancing, opera and even a fashion show! We set up a potato-stamping area with fun faces and ram shapes, as well as a sponging area for the kids to make their own New Years Banners for good luck. Child Care Profile: Baby Panda Childcare Centre

In this edition of the Child Care Provider Series, we feature Baby Panda Childcare Centre, an infant and toddler care facility located in the heart of Richmond. Esther Mei shares her experiences in the field and offers some advice for those interested in entering Early Childhood Education.

Early Childhood Education: Developing Healthy Eating Habits

Establishing healthy eating habits at an early age is crucial to help avoid eating conflicts and disorders later on in life. Exposing children to various food varieties promotes acceptance at later ages, and instills eating patterns that carry on through adulthood.

OFFICE ANNOUNCEMENTS
Keeping you updated on the local buzz
Dear Members,
You may have heard that we've recently changed the name of our organization. Volunteer Richmond Information Services has evolved and joined forces with the Richmond Community Foundation to form what we think will be one of the most formidable partnerships in the non-profit sector.

So what, exactly, does this mean?

Most immediately, it means a change in our e-mail address, from [email protected] to [email protected]. Please update your contact records accordingly. It also means that, when you call Volunteer Richmond, you'll be greeted as having reached Richmond Cares, Richmond Gives. Don't hang up! It's the same organization, just a new name.

And that's the most important point: Volunteer Richmond's programs and services have not changed. Our Information & Volunteer Centre, our Seniors Community Support Services, our Child Care Resource & Referral Centre, the Richmond Christmas Fund - they're all exactly as they were. The only difference is that they're Richmond Cares, Richmond Gives programs now.

In the longer term, this is about much more than simply a name change. Richmond Cares, Richmond Gives is actually a collaborative initiative, between us and the Richmond Community Foundation. It's a means of enhancing our services and increasing our impact. With our combined forces we hope to be the driving force of change in our community and we hope to continue serving you in a much bigger and better capacity for many years to come.

We're proud to introduce Richmond Cares, Richmond Gives. Our cause is community.
