New Collections

Even though it is still technically summer, most of the big yam companies have already launched their Autumn Winter collections so we thought we would bring you some highlights that have caught our eye.

Rowan has launched Magazine 58 packed full of wonderful designs. We particularly like Fingle by Brandon Mably.

Stylecraft's new yarn, Cabaret, is supported by some delicious, easy-to-knit designs like this one.

Each season we eagerly await the latest issue

of Twist Collective. Fortuna is an amazing shawl we are dying to cast on.

If any new designs have caught your eye, do let us know.

Zingtastic

We are thrilled that the eagerly awaited Zing needles will be in a yarn shop near you this month. Our new range comes in a selection of delicious colours, made from super-smooth metal.

To celebrate we are running a competition on our Facebook page and there is still time to enter here. The closing date is 16th August 2015.

We have also teamed up with internationally renowned designer, Jane Crowfoot, to bring you a short video which gives an insight into the wonderful attributes of the Zing range. You can watch the video on the KnitPro Youtube channel.

Knitting Heroes

Over the last few weeks we have been excited to learn about the achievements of two UK knitting heroes.

The name Debbie Bliss is well-known across the globe for her quintessentially British designs that are a joy to knit and crochet for all ages. When Her Majesty The Queen's Birthday Honours List was announced in June we were thrilled to hear that Debbie had been awarded an MBE for services to hand knitting and craft - a well-deserved honour and also a fantastic accolade our whole industry can be proud of.

Then just last week we heard that Betsan Corkhill was nominated for a Women of The Year Award. You may not be familiar with the name but through her organisation Stitchlinks, Betsan has worked tirelessly to promote and research the therapeutic effects of knitting particularly in the management of chronic pain. Her book, Knit for Health and Wellness is an inspiring read for any knitter or crocheter.

Who would you nominate for an award if you could?
