Holiday Blues
Going away on holiday can be a nightmare to knitters or crocheters. Instead of worrying about what clothes to take it's more a case of how much of my baggage allowance can I hand over to my projects? Knitting or crocheting with wool in a hot climate is not going to be a happy experience so we would prefer to go with cotton every time. A big project is not necessarily one you would choose either, who wants to be covered up from head to toe in a huge Afghan on the beach? This year we opted for small modular projects, light projects, something that can easily be taken up and put down again without losing your place in the pattern and socks are perfect.
So where ever you are travelling to, far away places or just on the train to work, we hope you will enjoy our pattern choices.

Knitting and crocheting on the go has become part of every day life for busy crafters. Instead of rummaging for a pair of scissors or stitch marker at the bottom of a bag full of yarn why not take a look at our fabulous clutches from our new collection.
Last year our Thames bag was so popular that we have extended the range to include 3 new designs called Danube, Rhein and Volga - we do love our rivers!
Ask your local stockist for more details.

There is one book of finishing techniques that, as knitters, we wouldn't be without and it is called by Finishing Techniques For Hand Knitters by Jane Crowfoot. Although it is aimed primarily at knitters many of the sewing up techniques are just as relevant to those of you that crochet. So many of us devote a huge amount of time to projects but we dread finishing and facing the dreaded sewing up. This book patiently guide you through all the techniques you need and gives you skills to finesse your projects. After all if you put all that time in, isn't it worth finishing well? The book also covers beading, embroidery, edgings, correcting mistakes in your knitting and embellishments.
