Thank you, Alissa Shoemaker, for entertaining us on Tuesday with, and teaching us about that glorious instrument, the harp!
From Renee

Today the Fours classes went to the Goshen Campus for our annual Music Share with the Lower School.  Typically, Ms. Cindy and Kim Aberle, Lower School Music teacher, work together and all of the children sing to one another.  The Preschoolers sing their favorite songs to the JK-3 graders, and the Lower School students sing to us.  It truly is a sweet and memorable experience for everyone

                                          involved.

This year was particularly interesting because Ms. Cindy has been sick and unable to work with the Fours for the past few days.  So we surveyed the Preschoolers and asked them, "What is your favorite song?"  Well, about 99.9% of them said, "Let It Go" from the movie Frozen!  In true St. Francis spirit, Ms. Aberle began working on finding the music and lyrics in effort to make this work.  I have to say, my heart melted a little when all of the Fours and Lower School students began singing this song! It was truly a special moment that everyone will remember for years to come.  They were so dramatic, already knew the lyrics, and in my opinion stole the show, but I could be a tad bit biased.

This week has been all things Derby as all of the classes have been working on horse projects.Making sock horses, painting their floats or stitching their initials in their "silks".  They are preparing for our 19th Running of the Preschool Derby!

Mark your calendars for our Grandparents' Day Tea and Preschool Derby Races next week.  A parade of class floats will begin promptly at 11:00 a.m.  Afterwards, we will "Run for the Roses" by class, beginning with the Twos, and then join our special guests in classrooms for refreshments.

How many Wyverns? 100 Wyverns!

Siofra Rucker
Director of Advancement

As announced, our Gym is on schedule and will be completed this summer with our Grand Opening in August!

In our recent parent coffees, many of you asked about fundraising and if we had raised enough to complete the gym. The answer is that we are very, very close. The Major Gifts have been received, and these gifts fund the building itself and almost all of fixtures and fittings.

However, we do need your help to make the Goshen Gym all it can be! And, we want everyone involved with the Goshen Campus to be a part of this incredibly important project for this Campus.

We are almost there! Our goal is to get 100 new gifts (ranging from $10,000 to $100) to complete the Gym between Spring Break and Summer Break. In addition, each class is going to be a part of making this happen. Students will be working with their teachers to choose their contribution to the gym -- whatever they think it must have, from hula hoops to daffodils to a popcorn machine. We also need help completing the landscaping and the deck between the gym and the playshelter, which are not part of the scope of the project. This is where you come

in!

The focus of this phase of the campaign is parent and student participation. I hope that you will also join us and make a gift to help complete the gym. Each gift will be heralded with a large Baby Wyvern sticker on the wall, and each sticker will be personalized with the donor's name and/or the amount or purpose of the gift, as the donor wishes.

Please feel free to email me if you have any questions, and please let me know how you would like to be a part of the "100 Wyverns" campaign.
