The 50-degree temperatures as I write this make me think that maybe, just maybe, we've had our last snow day?  Hopefully all parents have seen the email I sent out earlier this week in regard to gaining back one instructional day in May.  The new schedule for May is as follows, with the changes in bold.

Thursday 5/22 - Awards Day/Senior Luncheon

Friday 5/23 - Review Day (Last day of classes)

Saturday 5/24 - Monday, 5/26 - Memorial Day weekend

Tuesday 5/27 - Thursday 5/29 - Exams

Friday 5/30 - Exams in the morning; Graduation (4:00 p.m.)

The exam schedule will be listed in the newsletter later this spring.

We enjoyed our first Community Service day of the year on Thursday.  The temperatures weren't quite what they are today, but our students in outdoor groups survived.  Our next day comes up on Thursday, March 20th.

Enjoy the warm weekend!

Spring Sports Kicking Off

Spring sports kicked off the past couple of weeks, as the tennis and track teams begin to prepare for their upcoming seasons.   The tennis team practices and hosts home matches at Crescent Hill Park near the Mary T. Meagher swimming pool.  Coaches Stephen Boyd, Ralph Marshall and Terri White will be working with the teams this season.  For more information, email Stephen Boyd.

The track and field team is coached by Assistant Athletic Director Shavar Cowherd, Chase Carlson, Teresa Saborsky and Julie Dayton.  The team practices at the Goshen Campus.  A bus is available to transport kids to the Goshen campus for practices.  Parents are expected to pick students up following practice at 5:15 p.m. at Goshen.  For more information, contact Shavar Cowherd.

Annual Diversity Potluck Coming Up!

The Diversity Committee is happy to announce that the annual potluck lunch is coming up on Thursday, March 13th. Each year, we ask students and families to send in  a dish that best represents their family, their culture, and/or their country - just their favorite dish! It can be anything, from soup to dessert. Our goal is to have enough food to provide a taste of lots of different things to all our students and staff for lunch, bringing all of us together over food -- and some entertainment provided by students.

Please send in a dish (just a recipe's-worth!), and if you have any questions, contact Sarah Moran (502.736.1037). Thanks!
