From Renee

We are in the process of re-enrolling Preschoolers for next year.  As a current family, your children have priority for placement.  We have only a very limited number of slots available in each class.  Please contact the Preschool office if you have any questions about this process.

Next week, I will be facilitating a training on professional development for preschool teachers at a local conference.  We hosted a similar conference about five years ago here at the Preschool, and the training was on becoming a reflective teacher.   This time I will be taking two  of our teachers, Mary Pat Mann and Noelle Lunte, with me to participate in the training.  We will look closely at planning classroom environments and choosing materials for Preschoolers.

The four-year-old classes will go on a field trip Tuesday, January 28 to our Goshen Campus.  They will "try on" JK and Kindergarten.  There will be a program for parents beginning at 9:00 a.m. with the Kindergarten teachers, Head of School, Head of Campus, and Lower School Dean.  More details will be coming home with your child next week; mark your calendars for this informational event.

Need A Good Sitter?

Alex Gift (our mentioned in last week's newsletter "Santa") is designing an application that will aid parents who are looking for quality babysitters -- especially for short notice occasions.  To assist with this, Alex has posted an online survey, which he invites our Preschool parents to take.  This survey is purely voluntary, will take just a few minutes to complete, and can be reached by going here.

A Taste of St. Francis

 "A Taste of St. Francis!"

The St. Francis Athletic Committee is pleased to announce the creation of a brand new book that will bring together the whole SFS community in support of our athletic programs! This attractive collection of recipes, artwork, and poetry that celebrates all things St. Francis is titled, appropriately,"A Taste of St. Francis!" We are now soliciting contributions for "A Taste of St. Francis" from everyone in the SFS community which will be sold to raise funds to benefit athletic programs on both campuses in the coming years.

We need YOU!  Please submit your family's favorite recipe, a drawing, or a poem to us for potential inclusion in the "Taste of St. Francis".  We want students, parents, alumni, teachers, and friends of St. Francis to be represented!

Submissions requested by January 31, 2014.  Please send electronically to Cassandra Zimmerman.
