This week at the Preschool, we have started working on a winterscape project for our main hallway and bulletin board. The four-year-olds painted beautiful trees with fluffy white snow. The two-year-olds painted and cut out snowflakes, while three-year-old friends are busy creating birds for the trees. It's such a lovely gift from the children to everyone that walks in the building.
The weather cooperated with this project and gave us a real-life example of what snowy days are like. Many Preschoolers haven't seen snow before, or don't recall from years past. They really enjoyed coming to school on Tuesday and playing in the snow. Several classes quickly whipped together a few bird feeders made from pine cones, bird seed, and frosting. Bins full of snow were also brought inside for closer examination by some. They used watercolors and mixed colors to paint the snow, looked at it through magnifiers, and used their imaginations with miniature play forest animals. We are looking forward to many more snowy adventures with the Preschoolers.
Holiday Helping Hands
Thank you to all of the families that have contributed to gifts for the California Area Child Development Center. It is the overwhelming generosity of our Preschool families that makes this project so successful! There will be bright holidays ahead for these families! Thank you to the Parent Association for all of your "helping hands" on this project.
Coat Drive
The Coat Drive was a rousing success and we delivered over 50 coats to the Wayside Christian Mission! Thanks for digging in your closets and finding coats for this project! Thank you Wes and Christine Odom for all your efforts organizing and delivering the coats.

For parents of current two- and three-year-old students Next week, be watching for your 2014-15 Contracts in the mail!
WHO: Current SFS Preschool Students
WHAT: 2014-15 Contract - Signature & Schedule Choice for the Preschool at Goshen
WHEN: Contracts must be returned between December 19th and January 15th.
WHY: The move to Goshen will necessitate a first year Preschool class of 50 students. Current families will have first "Right of Refusal" to enroll their student. After the deadline, enrollment will operate on a "First Qualified, First Enrolled" basis.
Believe it or not, it is time to formalize your thoughts for the St. Francis School Preschool on the 64-acre Goshen Campus. The Goshen students, faculty, and staff are excited for the addition of our Preschool operations. Please be assured that the awesome experience that your young students have enjoyed at the Harrods Creek location will only be enhanced by the seamless (and natural) incorporation of the Preschool at Goshen.
Please go over the documents when you receive them. After your choice is made, return the signed contract and deposit to the Finance Office in Goshen.
Have a Wonderful Holiday break!
Very Respectfully,
Richard |
