St. Francis will be testing our AlertNow emergency notification system (used for snow closures and other breaking news) on Tuesday, November 26th at 12:00 p.m. Please notify David (694-9373 or email) if:
(a) you receive a test notification at a phone number or email address you would prefer not to have in the AlertNow system, or
(b) you do not receive the test notification and would like your email address or phone number to be added to our emergency notification list.

Fundraiser Update
Our Mixed Bag Fundraiser online ordering has been extended until this Monday, November 25th -- so if you forgot to turn in your order form, it's not too late! Please go online and place an order to support St. Francis Preschool.
A big thanks goes out to all the volunteers and Prospect Highland Cleaners for making the coat drive a big success!
Holiday Helping Hands and Holiday Wish Fund
Thanksgiving is almost here. Let's start the giving early. Please check your child's backpack for information about our Holiday Wish Fund and Helping Hands programs:
For many years, the families here at the Preschool have come together to provide items for other families in need. Many families who receive assistance through the California Area Child Development Center will be unable to purchase holiday gifts without our help. Yesterday or today at your classroom luncheon, a signup sheet may have been passed around that included a wish list of items, and an information sheet came home in your child's backpack. Helping Hands works with families from the California Area Development Center downtown here in Louisville to buy Christmas gifts for those in need.

Our Holiday Wish Fund lets us donate any amount you choose toward a holiday gift card for your child's teacher. We all know they deserve it!!

The High School's We Act community service group is raising money to build a school in Haiti under the auspices of the Free the Children organization (www.freethechildren.org). Each brick costs $20 and the school as a whole is $10,000. The 11 student members of the group chose this as their globally-focused project and realize that it may take time to reach the ultimate goal, but little by little - brick by brick - they are committed to making educational opportunities possible for a group of children in Haiti. One of their fundraisers is a Panera Night on Tuesday, December 10th from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Panera on Bardstown Rd. in the Highlands. Up to 20% of purchases will be given to the group and funneled directly to this project. The attached flyer must be presented when you order. If you can, please stop by for dinner or some carryout and help support the High School We Act group in building a school in Haiti!

St. Francis Preschool Fall Coat Drive ...
...has now ended. We want to thank all the families who contributed their outgrown and gently used coats and jackets. Volunteers are now taking the coats to be cleaned, and soon they will arrive at Wayside Christian Mission where they will be distributed to those who need them most. We will let you know how it all goes!
