Halloween parades are next week, and they are my absolute favorite -- and a tradition here at the Preschool. The children don their costumes and walk along the sidewalk in front of the Preschool. You are welcome and encouraged to hang out after carpool for this event. The parades will begin promptly at 9:10 a.m., so please send your child to school in his or her costume. We request that the parents of two-year-olds walk with their children in the parade. You may want to stick around for a few minutes after the parade for a classroom group picture. The Ladybug class will parade on Tuesday, October 29, and all other classes will parade on Wednesday, October 30.
Parent conferences are coming up next week, and this is a great time to exchange information with your child's teacher. If you haven't signed up yet, that's okay -- there is still time left to do so. Please use this link and look for your child's teacher's name. We will take the link down on Wednesday so teachers can begin preparing for the day.
______________
Learning Resource Center
You will be receiving information from the Learning Resource Center about a speech/language therapy screening opportunity for Preschool students. Your child will only be screened if you request it in writing. Look for an email from Claudia McCrocklin with additional details about this service.

Now that autumn weather is truly, finally settling in, we thought it would be a good time to remind everyone that we will still be spending a portion of our days out of doors (except for those cold, rainy days, and times when temperatures are below freezing). Please send your children to school with coats, hats, mittens, and boots when appropriate. Also, this is a good time to change out that extra set of clothing in your child's backpack and replace
those shorts and t-shirts with jeans and sweat-
shirts!

Please be sure to sign in whenever you visit the Preschool, or when dropping off or picking up your child during non-carpool times.
THANKS!

Need all-day childcare on Conference Day?
We are offering all-day care, from 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., for Preschool students only. The fee is $50, and it is necessary that at least four students sign up before we can make this happen.
Call David (or email) at 694-9373 to reserve a spot.

October 31, Professional Development Training for Teachers
Here's a glimpse into what the faculty will be up to on Halloween...
Morning Session:
Researchers have documented that attachment patterns established in early childhood can lead to many outcomes.
Dr. Hans Otto Kaak,
Professor, Psychiatry, Pediatrics and Social Work at the
University of Kentucky College of Medicine, will lead our
teachers in a discussion and exploration of this theory.
Afternoon Session:
Motivational speaker Dr. Telly Sellars will present an examination of Howard Earl Gardner's theory of Multiple Intelligences.
Gardner contends that each of the intelligences exists in every person -- though some are not fully developed. We will take an in-depth look at the various intelligences: linguistic, logical-mathematical, musical, special, kinesthetic, interpersonal, intrapersonal, and natural, to deepen our understandings of the learners in our classrooms.
