We are honored to have your family join the St. Francis School family! As far as first weeks go, this is the best one I've ever seen. The children are transitioning beautifully into the program. Just remember it's not uncommon for your child to experience a few bumps in the road during the second week. The new routine is settling in, and we have to remind ourselves that for the Preschoolers everything is new right now. To help your little one with the transition, remember to
keep routines at home as consistent as possible.
In our curriculum, during the next few weeks, we will be focusing on community. The children will be learning about what it means to be a part of a school community. Helping at snack, hanging up their backpacks, learning to share, and serving as classroom helpers are a few ways they participate in our school community. The teachers are supporting each child's developing independence. As the year progresses, the community will expand to include projects about family and transportation, for example. On September 12 and 13, we will have a Parent Luncheon in your child's class in celebration of our classroom communities.

There are still a few slots available for Extended Day. If you're interested, please contact the Preschool office. If your child attends Extended Day, please remember s/he will need a 2'' rest mat (available at the Preschool office for $35), a crib-size sheet and a small blanket. All items are sent home weekly to be laundered. Just remember to send them back on Monday!

Big Sings
 Our monthly Big Sing Schedule for September and October will be posted in next week's Newsletter.
Every month we hold an all-Preschool community sing in our Big Room that all parents are invited to attend. Big Sings normally begin at 9:15 and last about 20 minutes or so. We always look forward to seeing you there!

Family Information Forms
We have had a terrific response from our Preschool community (thank you!), and we are almost two-thirds of the way to having all the forms in.
If you have not yet had the chance to complete one for your family, we ask that you please do so here.
If you are encountering a problem accessing the form, please email David in the Preschool office, and he will resolve the issue.
