BIA schedules consultation meetings across the country

BIA has scheduled a tribal consultation meeting in Oklahoma City at OSU-OKC on January 29.

In 2012, Congress passed the Moving Ahead for Programs in the 21st Century Act (MAP-21 Law), which replaced the existing Indian Reservation Roads (IRR) program with the Tribal Transportation Program (TTP). Indian Affairs has been working with the U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Highway Administration on updating regulations to comply with these changes. Last year, draft revisions to 25 CFR 170 were distributed and consultation sessions held on the draft. Tribal and other feedback was incorporated into the draft and now Indian Affairs has published the proposed rule.

A BIA Consultation Meeting will be conducted in Oklahoma City by Assistant Secretary Kevin Washburn.

Thursday, January 29

9:00 am - 4:00 pm
OSU - OKC University, Student Center South, 3rd Floor
900 N. Portland
Oklahoma City, OK 73107
(405) 945-3238.

 Other upcoming consultation meetings:

January 27, 2015, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm (local time) - Embassy Suites Minneapolis Airport, 7901 34th Avenue South, Bloomington, MN 55425 (952) 854-1000

February 10, 2015, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm (local time) - Frontier Building, 3601 C Street, Room 896, Anchorage, AK 99503
