Trolley service is coming to Muscogee (Creek) Nation

The Muscogee (Creek) Nation (MCN) trolley bus will soon travel a circuit of governmental and commercial stops important to Muscogee (Creek) citizens and the general public of Okmulgee, OK.

According to Charlie LaSarge, Manager of the MCN Tribal Transportation Program, the inspiration for this addition came from seeing similar trolleys on the streets of Muskogee, Okla.

"I was in Muskogee and they have a few trolley buses over there and I was kind of impressed with them. We felt that was something that we could run a scheduled route over here in Okmulgee that would hit all of our senior apartment complexes, go through our tribal properties, pick up people to take downtown, to a clinic or anywhere they need to go at 50 cents per ride."

LaSarge said the new trolley service would not be limited to Muscogee (Creek) citizens and would allow for passengers to plan their shopping excursions.
