Make your grant proposal stand out! In these times of tight budgets and competitive funding, the skills associated with good grant writing become even more vital for an organization. The TTAP Grant Writing Class will help agencies make the most of their grant writing skills in the 9 am to Noon session. 

 

Nani Pybus, Ph. D, Proposal Development Specialist, Oklahoma State University, will offer information and tips on the basics of grant writing including the following: how to find funding sources, how to develop a funding proposal, and how to get it funded.

Jurney captures 2013 SCAUG Founder's Award
April 2013

 

Pamela Jurney, Environmental Coordinator, Red Plains Professional, Inc.,  is the recipient of the SCAUG 2013 Founder's Award. The South Central Arc Users Group (SCAUG) is an organization that is dedicated to the benefit of users of Esri's Geographic Information Systems (ArcGIS) software in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Mississippi. The Founder's Award was created in 1990 to recognize exceptional contributions by an individual or agency, from either the private or public sector, which have significantly enhanced the importance of geospatial sciences and made significant contributions toward advancing the use of GIS.

 

Jurney recently conducted two ArcGIS classes at the Southern Plains TTAP in Stillwater, OK.

Please see the link below for a Federal Register notice from the Bureau of Indian Affairs regarding "Tribal Consultation on the Draft Regulations Governing the Tribal Transportation Program" that was published Friday, April 12, 2013.  The Bureau of Indian Affairs is announcing tribal consultations to discuss draft revisions of the regulations governing the Tribal Transportation Program. The consultations will also cover requirements for proposed roads and access roads to be included in the National Tribal Transportation Facility Inventory and will include an update regarding the ongoing quality assurance review of the facility inventory.

The consultation meeting dates and locations are as follows:
 
May 14, 2013      Anchorage, AK  9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
May 16, 2013      Phoenix, AZ 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
May 21, 2013      Minneapolis, MN 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

The notice states that comments on the draft rule are due by June 14, 2013. This notice does not provide an addresses for the consultation sites.  Additional information will be provided as it becomes available.

Motor Vehicle Crash
Crash Data Collection Training 
April 22 - ODOT Training Center in OKC

Millions of dollars are spent annually to make our highways safe and efficient, with most safety improvements resulting from the analysis of crash information at specific locations. The Crash Data Collection class will teach you how to log in to the Oklahoma's Safe-T System where you will be able to access crash data for your area. This 2 1/2 hour class will be conducted by Ken Hess, Oklahoma DOT, Traffic Engineering Division, Collision Analysis & Safety Branch.

National Transit Database Reporting 
Deadline April 30
 
The regular reporting deadline for the National Transit Database for the 2012 Report Year is April 30, 2013.  The 2012 Report Year is the data that will be used for the FY 2014 apportionments, including the Tribal Transit Formula apportionment for next year.
 
If you are a current Tribal Transit Provider of Public Transportation and want to be included in the FY 2014 Formula Apportionment then you must report to the NTD by the deadline.
