After a recent Needs Assessment Survey of our TTAP clients, Construction Management came back as one of the most requested class topics.
Coming up May 7-8, the Southern Plains TTAP will be bringing you Construction Management & Cost Estimating, at the Southern Plains TTAP Center in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Class times are 9 am to 4 pm and will be instructed by Heather Yates, Ed.D.
The class will offer guidance on overall construction management, quantity take off, cost estimates, historical data, materials/labor, and MORE. The 2-day overview will conclude with a practical application exercise in a case study. Before joining the academic world, Dr. Yates worked for a national award winning heavy highway concrete paving company, and later worked for TranSystems Inc., a national Transportation Design and Inspection firm where she ran the testing and inspection laboratory and served as an inspector on various highway and bridge projects in Southeast Kansas.  CDL Exam Prep Class Concho, OK: April 11-12 Do you need to prepare for the CDL Exam? This course provides driver license testing information for drivers who wish to have a commercial driver license (CDL). The class will help the student prepare for the test, while providing critical information regarding driving safely, transporting cargo and passengers safely, air brakes, tank vehicles, hazardous materials, school bus, pre-vehicle inspection, combination vehicles, and more. *A CDL Examiner will also be on hand to answer questions and demonstrate the pre-trip inspection on the second day!* Sign up today.

Make your grant proposal stand out! In these times of tight budgets and competitive funding, the skills associated with good grant writing become even more vital for an organization. The TTAP Grant Writing Class will help agencies make the most of their grant writing skills in this morning session.
Nani Pybus, Ph. D, Proposal Development Specialist, Oklahoma State University, will offer information and tips on the basics of grant writing including the following: how to find funding sources, how to develop a funding proposal, and how to get it funded.
