TRAVEL BURSARY
Slovakia 10th - 17th September 2016

The International Dendrology Society (IDS) (www.dendrology.org) is offering a travel bursary for a student of dendrology or full time employee under 30 years of age to join the IDS tour to Slovakia in September 2016.

This person would join a group of 20-30 IDS members, led by a member of the IDS Tours Committee. IDS members are either knowledgeable amateurs, often with their own arboretum or park, or professionals responsible for arboreta and parks from all over the world.

The tour will start and end in Bratislava and will visit botanic gardens, natural parks, High Tatras (Carpathian mountains), primeval forest and an arboretum. This is an outstanding opportunity to study the flora of this diverse country in the company of interested and knowledgeable people.

The 2015 congress theme 'Connecting with Communities' will highlight the many ways in which botanic gardens across Australia and New Zealand play an important role in the environments in which we live through partnerships, joint ventures, sharing, outreach work and advocacy.

The BGANZ Congress will enable botanic garden professionals an opportunity to come together, network and return to their respective gardens with new ideas and skills. This congress promises to deliver not only thought-provoking seminars, workshops and tours but will also have a strong focus on networking through a range of events.
