A LOOK BACK AT THE NEW YORK TARTAN DAY PARADE OF 2015, AS WE LOOK FORWARD TO SATURDAY APRIL 9TH, 2016.

The 2015 17th Annual New York Tartan Day Parade, capped off a great week of celebration that was brimming with a diverse range of events, from the 10K "Scotland Run" in Central Park to photo exhibits, lunch-time concerts, business seminars, and a "Pre-Parade Ceilidh" all leading up to the Parade.

In 2015 Scotland has celebrated the "Year of Food and Drink" with Belhaven, Scotland's oldest brewery, the "Official Beer of the New York Tartan Day Parade Events"

Graham McTavish, stars of the mega hit Starz Outlander series, was Grand Marshal of the Parade.  Alongside Honorary Grand Marshal, Rt Hon Patricia Marwick, they led the Parade up Sixth Avenue on a wonderful sunny day, to the cheers of the crowds lining the Streets.

BARBOUR, the iconic country and outdoor clothing brand celebrated their Scottish roots dressing 12 lucky dogs in stylish, warm dog coats - The Barbour Tartan Dog Pack of Scotties and Westies was once again one of the most popular moments of the Parade.

Thousands of marchers took part in the Parade, but as colorful as the many pipe bands and dancers may be, the Scottish dogs tend to draw some of the biggest cheers from the crowds, especially the children.

THE 18th ANNUAL NEW YORK TARTAN DAY PARADE: will take place on Saturday April 9, stepping off at 2pm from 44th and Sixth Avenue.

In 1998 the U.S. Senate declared April 6 to be National Tartan Day to recognize the contributions made by Scottish-Americans to the United States. In 1999, two pipe bands and a small but enthusiastic group of Scottish Americans marched from the British Consulate to the UN-our first Parade! Since then, it has grown to include hundreds of pipers, thousands of marchers and many more thousands cheering from the sidelines.  Website for Parade details: http://nyctartanweek.org
