Good Roads President Perret receives PR award

BATON ROUGE, La. - Louisiana Good Roads and Transportation Association President Kenneth Perret, P.E., has been awarded the Charles M. Kerr Award for outstanding public relations in promoting the engineering profession.

The award, given by the Louisiana Engineering Society, is named after Charles M. Kerr, who was president of the society in 1954 and was a member for 52 years until his death in 1964.

 

Perret was honored for his advocacy of the engineering profession as president of Good Roads and as a member of the Capital Area Transit System (CATS) board of commissioners.

 

Perret, a native of New Orleans, has a long and distinguished career of service in the public and private sectors. For many years, he was with the Federal Highway Administration and served as an administrator in Arkansas and Washington, D.C. Perret also served as DOTD assistant secretary under two Louisiana governors and has worked as a professional engineer in the private sector.

Louisiana Good Roads and Transportation Association is a statewide, non-profit organization dedicated to fostering and promoting a program of planning, design, construction and maintenance of an adequate transportation system, sufficiently financed, which will conveniently and safely serve the transportation needs of the people of Louisiana.
