CMMG's Mk47 Mutant has been the most talked-about rifle of 2015. Built around the 7.62x39mm caliber, the Mutant features a shortened AR-10-sized bolt carrier group that is paired with a unique upper and lower receiver to minimize weight and increase ergonomics. One of the primary benefits of the Mk47 design is its ability to accept existing AK magazines. Now the company has announced the addition of an AR pistol and a short-barreled rifle version of the Mutant, as well as the availability of California compliant versions of the three original rifles (Mk47 T, Mk47 AKM and Mk47 AKM2).

CMMG Mk47 K Pistol, caliber: 7.62x39mm, 26.5 length - MSRP: $1,499.95.

CMMG Mk47 K SBR caliber: 7.62x39mm, 10-inch medium taper profile, and is 27.5 inches long with stock collapsed. MSRP: $1,629.95.

Steyr Arms has announced that its newest SSG rifle with a carbon-fiber stock is now available in America. Unlike conventional carbon-fiber stocks made from woven carbon fabric that often suffer from side-strike structural failures, the SSG Carbon's stock is made using the same "chipped-carbon" Sheet Molding Compound (SMC) construction used to create load-bearing structures in Formula 1 racecars and high-performance aircraft. Due to the unique recoil absorption properties of its SMC technology, the SSG Carbon is surprisingly lightweight, and its recoil absorption is unmatched. MSRP: $3,695. [For more information]

EDITORIAL
The Pot Calling the Kettle... Gun
David A. Lombardo

It didn't take Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe three hours to use the news crew shooting as reason to call for more gun control in the Democrat's state. Would it be possible for liberals to show a few hours of respect for the live, on-camera murder of 24-year-old television reporter Alison Parker and her 27-year-old cameraman Adam Ward? The two were gunned down Wednesday morning near Roanoke, Va., by a disgruntled ex-employee of WBDJ-TV.

McAuliffe, a longtime advocate of gun control, said he is "heartbroken" by the "senseless" shooting, then immediately talked about renewing the push for expanded background checks. "There are too many guns in the hands of people who should not have guns," McAuliffe told The Washington Post. McAuliffe wasn't alone.

Hillary Clinton took to Twitter to share her condolences to the victims' families - "Heartbroken and angry," she wrote. Then she immediately went into her diatribe on how guns are the reason for crime, saying: "We must act to stop gun violence and we cannot wait any longer." She wants to see tougher background checks on all firearm purchases.

And let's not forget the Hollywood crowd who, because they're in movies, sing, dance or otherwise fleece the elderly in the name of entertainment, are obviously experts on all things law enforcement, gun control and firearm registration. The likes of Darren Criss, Ricky Gervais and Sophia Bush...wait, is this the best Hollywood can come up with these days? Third stringers? Really?

Anyway, they all support background checks on any firearm transaction at all because... Well, they actually have no idea what they're talking about, but the New York Times told them what to think, so that's good enough. Having watched a couple of them be interviewed on television, it occurred to me they don't even know what they're doing.

The argument for background checks was made in the Dylan Roof/Charleston church shooting last June, only to find out the weapon had been legally acquired. In fact the shooters at Virginia Tech, the Aurora CO movie theater, Fort Hood, Isla Vista, the Washington Navy Yard and the thwarted attack on Arapahoe High School all passed background checks. It is a common thread that most mass shooters acquired their firearms legally. What's the point of background checks if it doesn't stop nut-balls from acquiring firearms? And Vester Flanagan was both a certifiable nut-ball and passed a background check before legally buying a Glock 19. What good did the background check do?

The fact is Vester Lee Flanagan II was a nut-ball who saw everything that went wrong in his life as a result of racism, and this president fed that lunatic's fire. Allegedly Flanagan has been fired from more than one job because he was difficult to work with and racist himself. Using the name Bryce Williams, a nom de plume he chose to use in his television career, Flanagan faxed a 23-page document to ABC News almost two hours after the shooting in which he wrote that what triggered his murderous rampage was his reaction to the racism of the Charleston church shooting.

"Why did I do it," he wrote. "I put down a deposit for a gun on June 19th. The Church shooting in Charleston happened on June 17th. What sent me over the top was the church shooting. And my hollow point bullets have the victims' initials on them."

If it were a white male shooting two black journalists, the entire country would be up-in-arms screaming "racism," burning down buildings and stealing television sets. Nobody can possibly deny the murders were racially motivated, but embarrassingly for liberals, this was a black man gunning down two white journalists and then specifically saying it was racially motivated. "If you want a race war, bring it on," he is quoted as saying, yet not so much as a phrase from all those liberals has been uttered with the word "racism" in it.

The president, Governor McAuliffe, Hillary Clinton and the press are united in their message: the problem is guns, and we need more gun control laws. The real problem is political correctness and the American Civil Liberties Union have this country so paranoid that no one is willing to drop a dime on nut-balls like Vester Lee Flanagan II. So despite being a clear and present danger to themselves and others, he and countless others like him continue to roam our streets - ticking time bombs. We don't need more gun laws; we need an administration and a Congress that get serious about getting people off the street who are a danger to public safety, but that's not politically correct, and you may one day die on some street corner because of it. Oh, and by the way, in case you haven't noticed, there are no burning stores, no looting, no riots in the streets. There's a message in there somewhere if you take the time to sort it all out.

On this week's On Target Radio, David and Gretchen will look at how liberalism shaped the television news crew killer; at the concept of the bible being the foundation of morality and ultimately the law; U.S. Representative Randy Hultgren's push for Illinois to investigate Planned Parenthood; and sanctuary cities.

7th Circuit Court: Illegal Immigrants Have Second Amendment Rights Too
Breitbart - Awr Hawkins (8/25/15)

The anti-Second Amendment cabal is going to get you one way or the other. If they can't ban guns outright, they're going to flood the country with bad guys with guns to make it so bad that Congress will have to pass gun bans. Case in point: according to a recent Breitbart article by Awr Hawkins, in United States v. Meza-Rodriguez, a case regarding a specific gun control law which bans "unauthorized aliens" (illegal immigrants) from possessing firearms in the United States, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit said they "...see no principled way to carve out the Second Amendment and say that the unauthorized (or maybe all noncitizens) are excluded." You want guns to protect yourself, John Q? We'll give you something to protect yourself from! According to the 7th even illegal aliens have Second Amendment rights.
NRA Sues Seattle over Illegal Firearm Regulation
The National Rifle Association announced Monday it is suing Seattle for violating a state law preventing local municipalities from issuing their own firearm regulations. The NRA, along with the National Shooting Sports Foundation and the Second Amendment Foundation, filed the suit Monday morning at King County Superior Court.

Executive Director of the NRA Institute for Legislative Action Chris Cox claimed that a similar battle was fought by anti-gun activists in Seattle in 2009 to no avail, adding that it is a shame to witness such a waste of public resources on issues that have been deemed to be clear violations of state laws. In response City Attorney Pete Holmes said that the tax actually does fall within the purview of the city's taxing authority.

Cox criticized an Aug. 10 Seattle City Council approval of a measure to tax the sales of all firearms and ammunition and require gun owners to report lost or stolen firearms. The taxes will add $25 to each firearm purchase in the city, plus five cents per round of most ammunition types. The revenue would fund gun safety research and gun violence programs.
The measure will be enacted beginning January 2016. In 2009 the City Council issued a regulation prohibiting carrying guns in city parks. The regulation was struck down in 2012 in the state's Supreme Court. [Source: NRA/ILA]

Slain Gun Instructor's Family Wants Law to Ban Children from Automatic Weapons

One year ago today Charles Vacca's children received the horrific news: their father, a shooting instructor, was accidentally killed by a 9-year-old girl with an Uzi submachine gun. Vacca's children have publicly forgiven the girl. But now they've launched an online petition pushing for legislation to prevent children from shooting fully automatic weapons.

A video on the petition's website features Vacca's four children, starting with his 12-year-old son, Christopher. "It's legal for kids my age and younger to shoot Uzis," he said. "That hasn't changed."

Vacca's 16-year-old daughter, Elizabeth, offered a startling comparison: "Laws say that children can't drink, can't drive, can't vote. But they can shoot fully automatic assault weapons. That hasn't changed."

She further told CNN's New Day that their father often schooled them on gun safety when they were younger, telling them "how to be safe with guns, but he never let us fire them because we were too young."

It's unreasonable, she said, that children smaller than her little brother are able to handle automatic weapons "that military personnel are trained for weeks to handle. It's time for a change. We have a voice, and so do you," the children said on the petition's website. [Source: InfoWars.com]
The Dangerous Background Check Lie
By Alan Korwin, American Handgunner

A gun-transfer ban for Everytown means death to Liberty. Half the media doesn't even know it's deceiving you when it talks about so-called "universal background check" bills. The other half knows it's lying. They know this code phrase means a national gun-transfer ban plus universal gun registration - total government control over all guns held privately in America. Without total registration, universal background checks don't work. A comprehensive gun-owner list is the whole point of getting falsely reported "background bills" passed. One man - multi-billionaire former NYC mayor Mike Bloomberg - is pushing the bills and funding operations, with shell corporations, hired hands, advertising, federal cooperation and mountains of his cash.

His goal is to make you subject to arrest if you hold someone else's gun - a "gun transfer" - with or without a sale, like he just snuck through in Washington State. It sounds impossible, but it's stone-cold true. He did that by deceiving the public with a $10 million false advertising campaign. He told the public one thing for a law that did something else. When people found out, after they passed it, they were furious - too late. (Read the entire article)

VA attempts gun confiscation

until Local Sheriff shows up

Second Amendment Insider.com - John Arnold

Veteran John Arnold received a letter from the Veterans Administration (VA) saying he was no longer fit to own guns and that his guns would be confiscated. Bonner County Sheriff Daryl Wheeler, along with roughly 100 other citizens, rallied around Arnold in a strong show of support. After Arnold received the letter from the VA, KREM 2 reports "an inspector was to go to Arnold's home August 6 to complete an inspection and seize the guns."

Wheeler said, "I took an oath to uphold the U.S. Constitution and uphold the laws of Idaho. This seemed appropriate to show my support. I was going to make sure Mr. Arnold's rights weren't going to be breached."

The letter Mr. Arnold received was based on the VA's assessment that Mr. Arnold did not handle his own finances, which is an indicator to the VA that he is no longer fit to own firearms. The VA inspector did not arrive that day. As we previously reported, the current administration is determined to disarm the populace in any way they can.
