Aimpoint has a new Micro H-2 sight that will be available in August. The most significant developments are the advanced optical lenses that allow better light transmission and provide a noticeable increase in clarity and performance properties. The sight can be mounted on nearly any rifle, shotgun, handgun or crossbow and used with most existing mounts that fit the Micro H-1 including the Blaser saddle mount. The sight can also be mounted to a larger magnified scope with a 30mm or 34mm scope adapter, giving the hunter ability to hunt at both short and long distances while providing faster target acquisition. The Micro H-2 can operate for up to five years of constant-on use, using just one CR-2032 battery, and is waterproof. |

Pope Francis, Guns, the Papal Guard and You
Pope Francis, the Bishop of Rome and the leader of the worldwide Catholic Church, has weighed in on gun owners. Though he's only been the successor to Saint Peter since replacing Pope Benedict in 2013, Francis knows all about protecting oneself. As Pope, Francis is surrounded by about 130 Swiss mercenaries known as the Corps of the Pontifical Swiss Guard. Founded by Pope Julius II in 1506, the Swiss Guard is responsible for security of the Pope and the State of Vatican City, an enclave country which lies entirely within Rome, the capital of Italy.
Speaking at a rally in Turin, Italy, Pope Francis came out strong about the right to personal protection or, for that matter, even manufacturing or selling firearms. Francis declared those who manufacture weapons, or who invest in the manufacture of them, are "hypocrites" if they claim to be Christian.
"If you trust only men you have lost," he said to the mostly youthful audience. "It makes me think of ... people, managers, businessmen who call themselves Christian and they manufacture weapons. That leads to a bit of distrust, doesn't it?" he said. It makes one wonder when he'll be disbanding the Papal Guard or at the very least melting all the Sig Sauers, Heckler & Kochs, Steyr Mannlichers and Glocks owned by the Papal Guard into chalice cups. And we're not even talking about the swords, halberds and other historic weaponry they carry and display. My money is on "no," and when I win that bet, it will show the old papist what a hypocrite he truly is.

Uber - Where No Good Deed Goes Unpunished
Last April a Chicago Uber driver with a valid Illinois Concealed Carry permit put an abrupt end to the beginning of a mass shooting in Logan Square by Everardo Custodio, who just walked up and started shooting into the crowd. The Uber driver pulled out a handgun and fired six shots at Custodio, hitting him several times. Custodio was subsequently charged with aggravated assault and unlawful use of a weapon. The Uber driver provided police with a valid concealed carry license and a Firearm Owner's Identification card. Assistant State's Attorney Barry Quinn said the driver "was acting in self-defense and in the defense of others." He was not charged in the incident and was hailed as a hero...well, mostly. When Uber found out about the heroic act, the company immediately banned both passengers and drivers from having guns in any of their cars.
The company's website explains the policy as, "We seek to ensure that everyone using the Uber digital platform-both driver-partners and riders-feels safe and comfortable using the service. During a ride arranged through the Uber platform, Uber and its affiliates therefore prohibit possessing firearms of any kind in a vehicle. Any rider or driver found to have violated this prohibition may lose access to the Uber platform." How clearly logical: a law abiding, concealed carry license holder who drives for Uber and is proclaimed a public hero is also a catalyst for a "no guns allowed" policy. What do you want to bet Father Pfleger starts using Uber?

Revolt: Millions of N.Y. Gun Owners
Refuse to Register Firearms
Millions of New York gun owners refused to register their firearms to comply with the draconian N.Y. SAFE Act. So far only around 24,000 gun owners, many of them cops, registered their semiautomatic rifles with the state, meaning that the law has effectively been repealed through civil disobedience.
"I am amused at the pathetically low numbers of New Yorkers who registered their so-called assault rifles," New York State Rifle & Pistol Association President Tom King said. "The number of individuals who registered their guns is 24,000, and many of these are law-enforcement officials mandated to comply by their departments. New York gun owners know it is flawed, and they are not complying with it. I am confident that we will ultimately prevail in getting significant portions of the law overturned in the courts."
The SAFE Act, which created a gun registry for semiautomatic weapons using detachable magazines, was practically ignored by both gun owners and sheriffs since it was signed into law by Gov. Andrew Cuomo in 2013. Protestors against the law marked the April 15 registration deadline by destroying state registration cards.
"They have been shredding the Constitution for years," gun owner Rus Thompson said. "You shred the Constitution; we'll shred any form you want us to fill out. They can't arrest a million people. What are they going to do?"
Erie Co. Sheriff Timothy B. Howard publicly said he wouldn't enforce the SAFE Act. "The Constitution is the law of the land," he stated. "If you know it's a violation of the Constitution, how can you enforce it?" (Source: InfoWars.com - Kit Daniels - 6/24/15)

Manchin, Toomey Both Interested
in Reviving Gun Control Push
In the wake of the Charleston shooting, Sens. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) and Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) are considering ways to renew their failed push to expand meaningful background checks on gun purchases. In separate interviews Tuesday night, at a reception before a ceremony hosted by Sandy Hook families where Toomey was honored, the senators discussed their desire to find a new way forward.
"We want to make sure we have the votes. Pat's going to have to, and I'll work with him, to get some of our colleagues on the Republican side," Manchin said, adding that he hasn't talked directly to Toomey about a revival. Manchin specifically mentioned an effort aimed at keeping guns out of the hands of people diagnosed with mental illness.
Though the effort is far from being fully formed, Toomey also said he's looking for opportunities to reintroduce something related to combating gun violence. "What I'm trying to figure out is, is there something that could get the support of the 60 votes that we would need in the Senate," Toomey said. "Joe Manchin was and is a great partner and someone I will continue to work with, and I'm open to exploring what is possible."
Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said Tuesday that something must be done to expand background checks. "Is that asking too much? Couldn't we at least do this little thing to stop people who are mentally ill, people who are criminals, from purchasing guns?" Reid said on the Senate floor.
But any sort of gun-control effort would face an uphill battle in the GOP-majority Senate. Since Manchin and Toomey's effort to tighten background check rules for firearm purchases narrowly failed in April 2013, there's been precious little debate on the subject. Hillary Attacks Second Amendment
Following Charleston Shooting
In a June 21st article on InfoWars.com, Adan Salazar recounts Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton voicing her support for stricter gun control laws in the wake of the recent shooting in South Carolina which left nine dead. Speaking at the 83rd annual U.S. Conference of Mayors Saturday, the former Secretary of State said she supported President Obama's calls to further infringe on the Second Amendment if it means it will help the victims of "gun violence."
"It makes no sense that bipartisan legislation to require universal background checks would fail in Congress despite overwhelming public support," she said. Apparently Clinton can't read the paper but instead prefers to reshape facts. Recent polls show the majority of Americans are now pro-Second Amendment, particularly to safeguard their lives and personal property.
In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, President Obama and Charleston Mayor Joseph P. Riley, Jr., both rushed to issue statements demonizing the Second Amendment over the shooter's actions, but ironically black Americans took to Twitter and rallied around firearms, the Second Amendment and the God-given right to self-defense, declaring a call to arms in rejection of the white supremacist ideology.
