Faxon Firearms, manufacturer of the ARAK platform, is now offering an ambidextrous dual-ejection window ARAK-21 upper receiver. Historically the ARAK-21 has always been left-handed shooter friendly but required customers to choose from a right or left-hand ejection receiver. The latest introduction allows shooters to choose their ejection side in the field, by swapping the bolt during normal field-stripping 180-degrees.

"At first glance, this is a boon to just left-handed shooters," says Bob Faxon, President and Founder of Faxon Firearms. "But it also has tangible benefits to right-handed shooters. During routing weapons manipulation, the dual window allows shooters to see into the chamber without having to take the firearm out of the shoulder and rotate. Press-checks, diagnosis, etc., are all faster with dual ejection windows."

The dual-ejection window receiver models will be available with optional covers for shooters would prefer to keep either opening closed. The covers will be available in matching colors: black anodizing, FDE Cerakote and OD Cerakote.

MKS Supply is offering the Mfour .22 LR Rimfire carbine. The high quality Chiappa Mfour carbine is almost identical to the 5.56/.223 carbine and is an ideal serious practice platform for the larger caliber carbine. Sure, in these days of nearly everyone having at least 5,000 rounds of .22LR ammunition ratted away and seeking more, it serves to dry up the market for many. Regardless of the short supply, a box of 50 rounds of .22LR is still a lot less money to shoot than twenty rounds of 5.56 or .223 and probably more fun to boot.

The accurate military lookalike Chiappa Mfour carbine is a serious platform to keep skills up for transition to its larger caliber centerfire cousins. The Chiappa Mfour is a bunch of fun to shoot, and for many it also serves as a serious survival gun.

Chiappa's Mfour comes with a dual-aperture adjustable iron sight, detachable carry handle and Picatinney flat top for optics. High-quality, precision-made .22LRs, regardless of brand or type, are as expensive (many times more) to manufacture as their larger caliber brothers--but what you get is a quality firearm that will deliver reliability and accuracy. MSRP: $550.

This ensures a more distinct and clearer dot in all conditions and situations. The Micro H-2 can be mounted on nearly any rifle, shotgun, handgun or crossbow and can be used with most existing mounts that fit the Micro H-1 including the Blaser saddle mount.

House Bill Seeks to Eliminate Online Ammo Sales

A proposed House bill introduced by a freshman Democrat would eliminate the ability of consumers to purchase ammo over the internet. Introduced by New Jersey Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman, H.R. 2283, known as the Stop Online Ammunition Sales Act of 2015, primarily seeks to require face-to-face purchases of ammunition.

"This bill would take the most basic steps to slow the proliferation of guns and ammunition, helping to prevent events like what we saw in Aurora, Colorado, three years ago," Coleman announced in a press release. "Congress can and must do more to keep our families safe, and we're urging them to do just that."

The bill, which has already been co-sponsored by 30 House Democrats, would also require the federal government to issue licenses to ammunition dealers, in addition to requiring them to report bulk ammo purchases of over 1,000 rounds by unlicensed persons. "A consumer product that has the potential to kill, like a bullet, should be regulated in a manner similar to cigarettes and certain allergy medicines," Carole Stiller, president of the Brady Campaign's anti-gun Million Mom March, added.

Mark Chestnut, writing for Americas1stFreedom.org, noted that the provision requiring sellers to report purchases of more than 1,000 rounds of ammo could easily be bypassed. "...he or she could easily skirt the proposed law by purchasing 950 rounds this week, then 950 again next week," he said. [Source: Infowars.com]

CCRKBA Lauds Politifact for

Rebutting Bloomberg's Everytown

The Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms [CCRKBA] applauded the fact checkers at PolitiFact, published in the Atlanta Journal Constitution, for calling out Michael Bloomberg's Everytown for Gun Safety over claims that so-called "lax" Georgia gun laws were somehow responsible for the slayings of New York police officers.

PolitiFact checked claims by the anti-gun-rights Everytown lobbying group that "illegal guns" from Georgia were involved in the murders of Officer Brian Moore several days ago and Officers Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos in December. PolitiFact determined that one of the guns had been purchased legally almost 20 years ago and the other had been stolen almost four years ago in a gun shop burglary.

"PolitiFact properly challenges Everytown on its definition of what constitutes an 'illegal gun,'" noted CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb. "This Bloomberg-funded gun prohibition lobbying group continually refers to guns as being 'illegal' without justification other than to demonize the implement, when they should be complaining about the actions of cop killers, which are definitely illegal.

"Let's be honest," Gottlieb continued, "the people at Everytown want Americans to believe that every gun is illegal because that's the narrative they seek to perpetuate and the cornerstone of the Utopian world they envision. For them the Second Amendment is a 'loophole,' and it's appropriate that they're being called on this canard." [Source: Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms]

Bank Turns Down Gun Store Business

A small business owner from Central Florida alleges she was denied service by one of the largest banks in the United States strictly because she sells guns. "It's a slap in the face," Peggy Craig, owner of Michael's Pawn and Gun in Fruitland Park, Fla., told The Daily Signal in an exclusive interview. "It affects my livelihood, it affects how I feel, and I think it's total bias and discrimination."

On May 7 Craig called TD Bank seeking a new line of credit to buy inventory and produce advertisements for her small, 23-year-old storefront, Michael's Pawn and Gun. When a TD Bank representative pulled up the shop's Facebook page and discovered that it sells guns, Craig says the representative told her, "We can't lend to anyone who sells firearms."

"The phone call probably didn't even last two minutes, at best," Craig said. "She hadn't even got to things like Social Security numbers or income ... it was just [asking for my] address and how many years we've been in business." Once she discovered Craig sold guns, "It was boom, end of conversation," Craig said.

In response to an inquiry from The Daily Signal, TD Bank says it has no blanket policy against the gun industry. "This is not a bank policy and might have been miscommunicated," a spokesperson said.

"Federal regulators have created an environment for banks that forces them to turn away legal, law-abiding business that bureaucrats disagree with for fear of investigation or increased scrutiny-both of which carry high costs and regulatory hurdles," Rep. Dennis A. Ross, R-Fla., told The Daily Signal. Investigations have tied this "overreach" to a Justice Department program known as Operation Choke Point.

"It's a slap in the face that I'm a criminal," Craig said. "I'm a bad person because I sell a firearm.... That's the way I feed my family; that's the way my son feeds his family-it's through this business. It could totally put me out of business. If I can't get a loan, I can't get inventory and I can't get advertisements. I might as well shut my doors. And that's what they're trying to do-shut us down." [Source: The Daily Signal]

Arizona Navy Vet Gets Guns Back

A retired Navy veteran in Arizona whose gun collection had been seized by Glendale police now has his firearms back, the Second Amendment Foundation revealed today.

SAF had intervened in the case of Glendale resident Rick Bailey early last month, taking on funding of the case and working with Chandler, Ariz., attorney Marc J. Victor. Bailey's case had fired up Second Amendment activists across the country after police confiscated 28 firearms valued at more than $25,000, which Bailey had collected over more than a decade. Bailey was generous in his praise of SAF's intervention, noting, "I want to thank Alan Gottlieb and the Second Amendment Foundation for all the help in getting my firearms returned."

Bailey had complained to the City of Glendale about a neighbor's habit of parking dump trucks used in his landscaping company. The dispute unfolded over several months until Bailey called police over concerns of toxic chemical odors apparently coming from the neighbor's property. The neighbor alleged that Bailey threatened him, and the following day he obtained a harassment order against Bailey.

"Mr. Bailey had been devastated by the incident," Gottlieb explained. "This all started because of a dispute with a neighbor that got way out of hand. Nobody should have their life turned upside down and their property seized because of an allegation that should have been thoroughly investigated.

"I want to credit attorney Marc Victor for his work in this legal action," he added. "He was on top of this case, and SAF was delighted to help out with funding."

"Now that Rick Bailey has his firearms back," Gottlieb observed, "perhaps his dignity can also be restored." [Source: Second Amendment Foundation]

Newspaper: 40% No-Check Claim

is "Mostly False"

As one of our great national leaders once said, when repeatedly confronted with specious and insubstantial arguments, "There you go again." We could cite plenty of examples used by proponents of gun control in this regard, but for the moment we're talking about the claim that 40 percent of firearms are sold without a background check. Readers may recall that two years ago, FactCheck.org discredited the claim in depth, and the Washington Post Fact Checker thereafter gave President Obama "Three Pinocchios" for using it in a White House speech.

That should have been embarrassing enough to have sent gun control supporters back to the drawing board, but instead they've doubled down. Michael Bloomberg's Everytown front group has now used the "40 percent" claim--and its corollary "6.6 million firearms" claim--at least 14 times.

That brings us to Timothy Kaine, the former Virginia governor and Democratic Party chairman elected to the U.S. Senate in 2012. Kaine repeated the "40 percent" claim on the floor of the Senate last month, but the Richmond, Va., Times-Dispatch is calling him on the lie. The newspaper points out that the authors of the study on which the claim is supposedly based say that only 14 to 22 percent of firearms were sold without a check when the study was conducted 21 years ago (before gun dealers were required to run checks under federal law), and they "don't know" if the same figures would be correct today. The Times-Dispatch's conclusion: the "40 percent" claim is "mostly false."

Gun control supporters will probably continue using the claim anyway. But why they think that it helps them to exaggerate the number of private firearm sales is a mystery. Claiming that there are millions of firearms sold without a background check while the nation's murder rate is at about an all-time low tends to endorse, rather than disparage, private gun sales.
