LaserLyte has introduced the LT-GM - a Laser Trainer barrel for the Glock 19 and 23. The Laser Trainer Barrel shoots a laser dot simulating bullet impact and providing feedback to the shooter. The Laser Trainer Barrel won't take ammunition making it safe anytime/anywhere. An additional benefit is a visual reminder that the Glock is unloaded and in a safe-mode. The replaceable battery is good for 10,000 shots. MSRP: $159.95.

SureFire has added the new M600 AA Scout Light-for long guns equipped with MIL-STD-1913 (Picatinny) rails. It can be powered by AA lithium or AA alkaline batteries that generate a maximum output of 200 lumens and produces tactical-level output for up to 3.75 hours on a set of batteries. The output and runtime from two AA alkaline batteries is approximately one-third that from lithium AAs, but this reduced output/runtime is theoretically outweighed by the convenience of using these easier-to-find and often less-expensive power cells. MSRP: $299.00.

The new TORQ VLE off-road electric vehicle satisfies the need for speed with a swift, silent and stable design that is ideal for people with disabilities who want more freedom and mobility in the great outdoors. It's standard automotive-style brake and throttle controls can be easily converted to utilize the well-designed and easy-to-use Sure Grip Push/Rock Hand-Control System for drivers with limited lower mobility. Unlike other hand control styles, the Push/Rock system puts the operating handle in a vertical position; the driver eases the handle back to accelerate and pushes forward to brake. This unique rocking motion allows full-range braking and acceleration with minimal hand travel while keeping the hand in a natural position. The vehicle has a 35+ mph top speed.

Politicians Gone Wild

David A. Lombardo

Tighten your seat belts because this is going to be a big jolt. Ready? I'm going to speak out in support of Harry Reid. Yup, Harry Reid, the Senator I've excoriated at length over the years. Reid has been accused by his own party of being a racist and insulting the black community. Although Democrats love the word racist when it comes to Republicans, this particular time is even dumber than usual. Reid recently endorsed a senatorial candidate to replace retiring Senator Barbara Mikulski. While I'm no fan of Harry Reid, it's not difficult to imagine he spent some time looking over the candidates and picked the best liberal one he could find. Unfortunately for Reid, the person he thought best qualified happens to be Caucasian even though there is a black candidate running too. The backlash has been significant-good for him. I love watching Democrats eat their own. It's not like hypocrisy isn't rampant among liberals.

A number of years ago, Senator Robert Menendez, a New Jersey Democrat, was accused of accepting gifts and cash donations from a friend in exchange for using his political clout to further his friend's business interests. Specifically Menendez used the private jet of one of his campaign donors. Conservatives called it a bribe; the law called it corruption. New Jersey looked the other way, and no charges were ever filed. Well, not until Menendez recently disagreed with the Obama White House and sided with Israel by showing respect to Netanyahu, claiming that we should partner with Israel and reject terrorist organizations. He also criticized the president for seeking to create an open and equal relationship with communist Cuba. Oops! The State of New Jersey has decided, years after the offense occurred, to prosecute Menendez for his indiscretion.

But the prize for politicians-gone-wild doesn't go to a liberal but to a Republican. Speaking to a group of people gathered in New Hampshire, Lindsey Graham, the gentleman from South Carolina, said that if he were president of the United States, he would not allow Congress to leave session until his demands were met, and he would use the U.S. military to ensure they could not leave town.

"Here is the first thing I would do if I was President of the United States: I wouldn't let Congress leave town until we fix this," Graham said. "I would literally use the military to keep them in if I had to."

Seriously? Is there something in the water in the Capitol building? Elected officials are out of control. It doesn't matter if they are liberals who are fast and free with the truth and think the Constitution is a living document to be changed at their whim, or conservatives who ran on reform and are now sitting on their hands like school children; John Q is on the short end of the stick. It's time to grab the stick and take all of them to the woodshed for some good, old-fashioned American values training.

Americans Stand Up, ATF Stands Down on Unconstitutional Ammo Ban

In a game of chicken, the loser is the one who blinks first, and ATF blinked with respect to their proposed ban on M855 ammunition. It should not be misconstrued to mean the fight is over, but this battle was won. The American people-including widespread bipartisan congressional support-stood up to be counted, and ATF didn't like the view.

In a press release ATF stated: "Although ATF endeavored to create a proposal that reflected a good faith interpretation of the law and balanced the interests of law enforcement, industry, and sportsmen, the vast majority of the comments received to date are critical of the framework, and include issues that deserve further study. Accordingly, ATF will not at this time seek to issue a final framework. After the close of the comment period, ATF will process the comments received, further evaluate the issues raised therein, and provide additional open and transparent process (for example, through additional proposals and opportunities for comment) before proceeding with any framework."

The real issue, of course, is whether or not it's constitutional to begin with. Constitutionality notwithstanding, ATF did take note of the roughly 80,000 comments it received from the public and that number continues to increase. And then we have those pesky congressmen - 52 Senators and 238 House members, to be specific. Their message was very clear and specific: no ban of M855 ammunition, period.

House Judiciary Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-VA) went on record saying, "After much pressure from a large, bipartisan majority in the House of Representatives, I am pleased that the Obama Administration has abandoned its attack on the Second Amendment. Congress will continue to steadfastly protect the constitutional rights of law-abiding citizens, and it is entirely inappropriate for President Obama to stretch his regulatory authority to implement partisan policies that Congress has refused to enact. Such an abuse of power would impact many law-abiding gun owners and restrict the American people's ability to legally and responsibly exercise their Second Amendment rights."

SAF Launches National Media Effort

to Battle Obama Gun Control

The Second Amendment Foundation has launched a nationwide television and radio effort to prevent President Barack Obama from using executive action to erode the right to keep and bear arms, which is the embodiment of a current plan by his Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives to ban ammunition for the most popular firearm in America today.

"Last week our general counsel warned in a letter to the BATFE that if it goes ahead with its plan to ban the popular M855 ammunition for modern sport-utility rifles, we would take court action. Today we're firing up American gun owners at the grassroots level to send a message that should be loud and clear: Keep your hands off our guns, ammunition and our right to keep and bear arms," said SAF Founder and Executive Vice President Alan Gottlieb.

SAF has released a one-minute message to radio and television stations that revealed the organization has a plan to stand up to the Obama Administration. The first phase is the media campaign launched that will be heard and seen across the country.

"The president has long supported a ban on semiautomatic rifles and their magazines," Gottlieb observed. "Now his administration is going after the ammunition. Evidently they've decided that rifles and magazines won't be a problem if people have no ammunition to put in them."

Federal Court Denies Stay in

Interstate Handgun Sale Case

A federal court in Texas has denied the U.S. Department of Justice's motion to stay judgment in the case of Mance v. Holder, which recently struck down the federal interstate handgun transfer ban as unconstitutional. The Department had sought a 60-day stay in which to consider whether it will appeal this ruling, although there is little question that the DOJ will file an appeal due to the potential ramifications of this ruling. Once an appeal is filed, we expect the government to revisit the request, and a stay likely will be issued for the duration of the appellate process. We will continue to keep you updated once the appeal is filed. [Source: National Shooting Sports Foundation]

Bloomberg's Everytown Eats Crow

Michael Bloomberg's Everytown for Gun Safety lobbying group has had to retract claims it made about some gun dealers in Vermont. The nation should be questioning everything else the group has said, including claims made to influence a Washington initiative campaign last year and a current effort in Nevada, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms said today.

News sources are reporting that an Everytown "report" about online firearms sales "wrongly identified" four dozen advertisements that allegedly were placed by unlicensed dealers, "leading potential buyers to bypass background checks." One of those "misidentified" dealers is now threatening a lawsuit.

"This is not the first time a Bloomberg-funded gun control lobbying group has played fast and loose with facts," said CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb. "Everytown and Moms Demand Action have been challenged for falsely inflating the number of school shootings since Sandy Hook, and who can forget the gun control bus tour funded by Bloomberg that included the names of criminals and a suspected terrorist as victims of gun violence?"

Everytown has issued an apology for its error, but gun dealer Bobby Richards, who operates CrossFire Arms in Mount Holly, is reportedly considering legal action. "If Bloomberg's Everytown group is wrong about this," Gottlieb questioned, "what else have they been wrong about? Did they deliberately misrepresent the facts in hopes they wouldn't get caught?
