Patriot Ordnance Factory has introduced The Skirmish, a carbine with extended handguard, ambidextrous lower receiver and available in light (.223cal/5.56mm) and heavy (.308cal/7.62.51mm) variations. The 14.5-inch M rail handguard provides the necessary real estate for modern shooting positions and is unique in that additional rail sections are able to be mounted based on the shooters needs, or stripped off to reduce weight/size. If the top rails are removed from the M rail, the shooter has the ability to utilize optics with larger objectives and lower mounting options. This feature ensures solid cheek weld and increases point of aim consistency. The Skirmish features a fixed Magpul MOE Carbine stock.

Realtree's new Sherpa Sling is designed to take heavy loads off the back and arms and distributes them among the stronger muscle groups in the legs, shoulders and core. It comes into its own when carrying the hunter's tree stands, climbing ladders, coolers, decoy bags and more. If you can secure the load with rope or any of the three included strap sets, the Sherpa Sling will carry it easier and a lot more safely. The Sherpa Sling's 1 1/4-inch ballistic Nylon webbing strap ensures heavy lifting capability. The middle section of the strap is covered with 2 3/4-inch wide, ¼-inch thick Neoprene, providing both grip and just the right amount of stretch for comfort.

How many journalists does it take to change a light bulb? Three: One to report it as an inspired government program to bring light to the people; one to report it as a diabolical government plot to deprive the poor of darkness; and one to win a Pulitzer prize for reporting that the electric company hired a light bulb assassin to break the bulb in the first place.

You know, the press used to be referred to as the Fourth Estate; its job was to keep an eye on the other three: the executive, legislative and judicial branches. Admittedly, the press has had a checkered past which lead a pundit to long ago observe, "There are government lies and newspaper lies, but in a democracy they are different lies."

Having said that, the press has come a long way since colonial times, when it would simply make up heinous lies about candidates the publisher didn't want to see elected. Oh, well...maybe times haven't changed all that much, but at least the press has, for better or worse, traditionally been adversarial to the other three estates, acting as a watchdog for John Q, but not so much anymore. Take, for instance, the press' support for this president's categorical denial that terrorism and Islam are linked.

The official word, from whatever golf course the president happens to be on at the time, is that terrorist attacks should not be associated with the word Islamic even if appended to the word "radical" or "extremist," and the press carries the water to John Q. This president continues to speak of terrorist attacks as workplace disputes, random acts of violence and lone wolf perpetrators. He constantly would have John Q believe none of these acts have anything to do with Islam.

While it is increasingly difficult for the press to ignore major terrorist attacks such as that which recently occurred in Paris, the truth is, the White House and its lackey press is hiding the truth from John Q. Since the September 11th attacks, there have been 24,861 deadly Islamic terrorist attacks: 78 since January 1st of this year, including the execution of a child and 11 other Iraqis by ISIS in front of their families; two people beheaded in Egypt; a police woman investigating a traffic accident in Paris was ambushed by a Muslim extremist; and an al Qaeda suicide bus bomber blows 37 people up at a college in Yemen. White House spokesman Josh Earnest went on the record saying, "We have chosen not to use that label of radical Islam because it doesn't seem to accurately describe what happened."

Really? Witnesses at the scene of the Charlie Hebdo massacre report constant shouts of "Allah Akbar" and "We have avenged the Prophet Muhammad" as the gunmen mowed down innocent people. In what alternate universe does that not constitute Islamic terrorism?

And then there's this: these terrorists are hardly secretive about their religious affiliation, their goals and their actions. They are actively on Facebook, Twitter and other social media outlets. Islamic terrorists have never seen a video camera they didn't love. They are such media whores they make Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson look like pikers. For the love of God, how can anyone on Earth not fully understand what's going on? You'd have to be living under a rock not to know-or in the White House.

But all that is going on "over there" somewhere, and America is relatively safe from terrorists, right? You know, aside from the 2,996 Americans killed on September 11th, that is. Well, not exactly. Since 9/11 there have been 40 separate acts of terrorism in the United States committed by radical Muslims, accounting for 62 deaths. Perhaps more important, there have been plenty of mass murder plots against Americans by Islamic terrorists that were thwarted by the FBI, law enforcement and overseas intelligence operations both before and after 9/11, as well as several that were simply botched, such as the attempt to blow up Times Square. The truth is the ratio is 3058 Americans killed and one Muslim retaliation killing.

Oh, yes, there has been one Muslim-American killed in revenge: a Muslim convenience store owner who was gunned down by Mark Anthony Stroman in Texas. Stroman, a white supremacist with a felony criminal record, hardly qualifies as an upstanding citizen. He did claim to be motivated by anger after having watched the Twin Towers fall. Regardless, he was sentenced to death in court.

When you look at the complete list of terrorist acts committed by Muslims since September 11th, it comes out to about five a day, but that's a conservative figure, because many such attacks in third world countries never get picked up by international news sources, even those resulting in multiple losses of life.

Which brings me to the point: this president, aided and abetted by the press, is covering up the truth about Islamic terrorism. It's here, it's happening, and no one is safe anymore. Plan accordingly.

Supreme Court urged

to take up SFO gun control case

The Firearms Policy Coalition and 12 other state and national civil rights organizations have filed a brief in the United States Supreme Court for a lawsuit challenging a San Francisco gun control ordinance. According to the plaintiffs' petition for review, the city's law "requires all residents who keep handguns in their homes for self-defense to stow them away in a lock box or disable them with a trigger lock whenever they are not physically carrying them on their persons."

In the amicus brief filed by the gun-rights groups, they argue that summary reversal of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals' decision "is warranted because [it] is plainly contrary to Heller," a landmark 2008 ruling that held the Second Amendment protects an individual-rather than a collective-right to keep and bear arms. But the groups also argue that the Supreme Court should hear the case in order to "clarify the standard governing Second Amendment challenges, and to confirm that courts must be guided by text and history rather than judicial interest balancing."

While some Second Amendment lawsuits have been decided based on the "text, history, and tradition" standard used in Heller and McDonald v. Chicago, a 2010 Supreme Court decision that applied the Second Amendment to states and local governments, many lower courts have since applied weaker standards that lets most gun control laws stand.

ISRA's Pearson weighs in on

jihadist war on Western Civilization

Like you, I have been watching the recent attacks in France. It seems incredible to me that our Political Leader can't see that this is a war on western civilization. What has taken place in France coincides with what I have been talking about in the previous Thursday Bulletins and elsewhere.

1. This is a jihadist war on western civilization that will be fought here. Here is wherever you are - France, Australia, Canada, Russia, and the United States, or wherever you are in the world. This war will be fought among us. We will be involved in it and so will your loved ones. It is not our choice; it is the jihadist's choice, and we can't avoid it.

2. We need to be prepared to defend ourselves and our loved ones. No one will arrive in time to save us.

3. I am constantly urging you to get training; now I find that to be more important than ever. The Muslim Jihadists in France were certainly trained. I am sure other attacks were perpetrated by jihadists with training. The jihadists already have the advantage of surprise. We should get some level of training to give ourselves a better chance of survival.

4. It is obvious the jihadists are ready to both kill and die. They have no intention of coming out alive and want to take as many other people with them as they can. Governments who treat these attacks as a crime problem get us all in trouble. This is a war.

The French are poster children for the lack of preparedness. Private gun ownership is different in France. There is a small group of hunters who are even having trouble keeping their guns. The French and the rest of the world need to forget their gun prohibitionist views and allow their citizens to defend themselves. In the meantime, let's make every effort to see that our Second Amendment rights are secure.

Penn law prompts towns to rescind gun measures

Barely a week after taking effect, a novel state law that makes it easier for gun-rights groups to challenge local firearms measures in court is already sparking change: nearly two dozen Pennsylvania municipalities have agreed to get rid of their potentially problematic ordinances rather than face litigation. Joshua Prince, an attorney for four pro-gun groups and several residents, cited the new law in putting nearly 100 Pennsylvania municipalities on notice that they would face legal action unless they rescinded their firearms laws. At least 22 of those municipalities have already repealed them or have indicated they planned to do so, according to Prince, who specializes in firearms law and is based in southeastern Pennsylvania.

Pennsylvania, which has a strong tradition of hunting and gun ownership, has long prohibited its municipalities from enforcing firearms ordinances that regulate the ownership, possession, transfer or transportation of guns or ammunition. Gun-rights groups complained that scores of municipalities have ignored the 40-year-old prohibition by passing their own, mostly unchallenged, gun measures.

Under the new state law, gun owners no longer have to prove they have been harmed by the local measure to successfully challenge it, and "membership organizations" like the National Rifle Association can stand in to sue on behalf of any Pennsylvania member. The challenger can also seek damages. The cities of Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Lancaster have sued to overturn the Pennsylvania law, saying the legislation was passed improperly. That lawsuit is pending in Commonwealth Court. [Source: Associated Press]

Another survey finds Americans say gun rights more important than gun control

For the first time in more than two decades, Americans have said gun rights are more important than gun control, according to a new survey from the Pew Research Center. The survey comes on the heels of the two-year anniversary of the Sandy Hook school shooting in Newtown, Connecticut, and follows an upward trend for mass shootings in the U.S.

In the survey, 52 percent of respondents said it is more important to protect the right of Americans to own guns, and 46 percent said controlling gun ownership was more important. There was a 9-point increase since 2012 in the percentage of Americans who said gun ownership protects people from becoming crime victims, as opposed to putting people's safety at risk.

Nearly 40 percent said gun ownership does more to put people's safety at risk. Differences in viewpoints were seen along racial and party lines, although black Americans' belief that gun ownership protects people surged by 25 percentage points between December 2012 and December 2014; Republicans holding the same belief also jumped by 17 percentage points.
