The first customizable heated jacket system designed for the outdoorsman, the Milwaukee M12 Cordless Realtree Xtra Camo 3-in-1 Heated Jacket sets a new standard in cold-weather performance and versatility. Worn separately as a base layer or attached to the outer shell and zip-off hood, the heated vest integrates five carbon fiber heating elements and advanced fabric-layering technology to distribute and maintain heat across core body areas. The jacket will provide up to six hours of continuous heat per battery charge. For added versatility, two distinct heat zones (back and chest, lower pockets) can be adjusted independently to provide the right amount of heat for any situation. It also includes a fuel gauge to check your battery life and built-in USB port for charging portable electronic devices. All pieces are washer- and dryer-safe.

Beretta has introduced a new side-by-side shotgun. The new 486 by Marc Newson is a respectful re-interpretation of the traditional side-by-side with an innovative technological solution: the wooden bridge. With this original design, the safety catch is no longer a remote mechanism on the end of the receiver, but now is seamlessly set into the high-grade walnut, almost like a bridge, creating a beautiful element of distinction. The engraving, made through a special high-technology laser, is an homage to Asia, the homeland of the world's most traditional game bird, the pheasant.

CORRECTION

Last month's Editorial on the Affordable Care Act ended with a calculation of how many tax dollars per U.S. Citizen were spent on Obamacare. Unfortunately, there were two endings to the editorial being developed. When one ending was chosen the number from both alternative endings were inadvertently mixed together and the calculation was done. The results, as many of you wrote to point out, were ridiculous even for the liberal spending mentality. My apologies for any inconvenience.

 Ferguson

 David A. Lombardo

Am I the only person in the country that is sick and tired of hearing about Ferguson? If I read one more article about how those self-absorbed, narcissistic thugs demand justice, I'm going to hit the streets in protest myself-mostly because I want a flat panel, 70-inch TV by my fireplace. I mean, nothing says you demand justice more than ripping off a $2000 flat screen TV, right?

I was watching the news the night they announced the grand jury's finding. All the evidence, including eye witness reports, substantiates that the Gentle Giant was a scumbag and caused his own death. Of course the truth is unacceptable when it goes against what those dipsticks want.

One idiotic female on Facebook said all the evidence and testimony to the contrary-note, she didn't disagree with the evidence-the cop was still wrong and should be sent to prison. Nothing like ignoring the truth when it gets in the way of acquiring a new television set.

The eyewitness to the event, the young black male that testified before the grand jury, turned up shot to death in a car and burned. Well, that's one way of dealing with an inconvenient truth. Fortunately cooler heads do prevail, and there are those that understand stealing television sets is unacceptable behavior. Take, for instance, the Gentle Giant's role model and step father, Louis Head.

A two-time convicted felon, so poor he can't afford to buy a belt to keep his pants up, Head stood up in front of the crowd of protestors and screamed, "Burn this bitch down" repeatedly, referring to Ferguson. I'm guessing he had a very strong influence on Michael Brown.

Head's exhortations did not fall upon deaf ears, and the mob went back into riot mode. Head is obviously an ersatz community organizer, so be careful, Hillary, you may have to deal with Head in 2016, but that's another story.

I'm no lawyer, and I didn't even stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, but didn't Head incite a riot? I think so: he shouted for the mob to burn down the town, and they went and burned down several stores. Not exactly the entire town, so obviously they lacked Head's vision, but CNN reported a row of businesses on West Florissant Avenue, a major thoroughfare in the St. Louis suburb, was engulfed in flames.

I would be disingenuous if I ignored the statement by Michael Brown, Sr., the Gentle Giant's real father, who recorded a public service announcement last week, saying that "destroying property is not the answer." And Monday night the family released a written statement that read, in part: "We respectfully ask that you please keep your protests peaceful. Answering violence with violence is not the appropriate reaction. Let's not just make noise, let's make a difference." Thank you, Mr. Brown. A shame you weren't around your son more to teach him those same virtues.

Which brings me to those who bear the greatest responsibility for all this entitlement crap: Al Sharpton and The Reverend Jessie Jackson. Talk about inciting a riot: in my opinion these two race-baiting jerks bear more responsibility for civil unrest and bad race relations in the country than any other single causal factor. These clowns have gotten rich by keeping blacks down and angry at whites. With the exception of Barack Obama and Eric Holder, no two other people bear more responsibility for the racial unrest in this country than Sharpton and Jackson. They've been caught repeatedly lying, making up fake scenarios to inflame people, organizing protestors and doing everything they can to increase the racial divide in this country, provided a news television crew was on the scene.

Sharpton proudly announced before the grand jury's decision that he had protestors lined up in something like 25 cities across the country ready to go. It isn't about the truth or justice; it's about rioting, stealing, mayhem and the career enhancement of a handful of self-important losers. Obama, Holder, Sharpton and Jackson should all be locked up. In my opinion, America would be a far better country for it.

SAF compels Utah city to roll back gun laws

The Second Amendment Foundation has compelled another city to roll back firearms regulations that run afoul of state law and the Constitution, this time in Park City, Utah. "We're delighted that officials in Park City unanimously approved repealing the conflicting regulations," said SAF Founder and Executive Vice President Alan Gottlieb. "If gun owners are expected to always comply with the letter of the law, so should government. In this case the conflicts were pretty clear." As reported by the Park Record, the council acted this week on four City Hall regulations that were not in compliance with Utah state statute. These included a prohibition on the use and possession of firearms, the carrying of concealed weapons, carrying a loaded gun inside a vehicle or in a street or in a posted area where guns are prohibited, and a prohibition on someone drawing or showing a gun in "an angry or threatening manner," which prevented displaying a firearm in self-defense without actually firing the gun. "Our effort started in early July," Gottlieb recalled. "SAF sent the city a letter detailing the problems with their existing regulations. Although it took the city almost five months to bring its ordinances into compliance, we're glad this didn't require further action."

Operation Choke Point legislation i

ntroduced in the House

U.S. Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (R-Mo.) has introduced the Financial Institution Customer Protection Act to address "Operation Choke Point." The legislation most notably protects firearms and ammunition industry members by making clear that "reputational risk" cannot be reason enough for banks to terminate a customer's financial service. The National Shooting Sports Association has heard from its members about banking relationships being terminated; many of those examples referenced the "reputational risk" of doing business with companies in the firearms and ammunition industry. The intent of the Financial Institution Customer Protection Act is to address Operation Choke Point (or other similar initiatives) while allowing federal banking regulators and the Department of Justice (DOJ) the flexibility to go after bad actors. The legislation will provide greater transparency and accountability among and oversight of federal banking regulators and DOJ. The bill specifies that banking regulators (FDIC, OCC, Federal Reserve, and NCUA) cannot suggest, request or order a financial institution to terminate a banking relationship unless the regulator has material reason. The bill makes clear that reputational risk alone is not enough reason to order account terminations. It further requires banking regulators to put in writing any suggestion, request or order to terminate a customer account. Any written request will be presented to the financial institution, but the institution is not obligated to share it with the customer.

NSSF study finds
accidental firearm fatalaties at historic low

A National Shooting Sports Foundation Industry Intelligence Report details statistics from the National Safety Council which indicate unintentional firearms fatalities remain at historically low levels. In fact, in the last two decades, the number of unintentional firearms-related fatalities has declined by 57 percent- from 1,409 unintentional fatalities in 1992 to 600 in 2012. Firearms are involved in fewer than ½-percent of all unintentional fatalities in the United States. In a side-by-side comparison, firearms rank among the lowest causes of injury. The data shows firearms-related fatalities in the U.S. have been decreasing consistently since record keeping began in 1903 and dramatically in the last 20 years. In the last 20 years, the number of unintentional firearms-related fatalities involving children 14 years of age and under has decreased by 67 percent. Unintentional firearms-related fatalities are substantially lower than the number of unintentional fatalities caused by many other forms of injury, with firearms involved in less than 1.8 percent of unintentional fatalities among children 14 years of age and under, and are among the least likely causes of unintentional fatality. In the past 10 years, firearms-related fatalities in the home have dropped by 20 percent and by 60 percent in the last 20 years. The report also underscores hunting is one of the safest activities in America.
