Stag Arms has introduced its new Model 9 & 9T rifles chambered for 9mm, claiming it is the ideal choice for short range & self-defense use up to 200 yards due to decreased muzzle blast, decreased muzzle flash, lower recoil, reduced over-penetration and a heavier bullet. Both models boast a 1/10 twist 16" heavy barrel, carbine length gas system, a 6-position adjustable buttstock, and, as always, they are available in right & left hand configurations. The safety, charging handle and magazine release function the same as any AR-15. However Stag Arms has designed the actions of the rifles from the ground up. The rifles accept standard Colt-style 9mm AR magazines, which insert into the integrated magazine well in the lower receiver. 9 & 9L MSRP: Right Hand $990; Left Hand: $1025. 9T & 9TL MSRP: Right Hand $1275; Left Hand: $1295.

Editorial
Lib Lies
David A. Lombardo
Liberals are attracted to political office like vultures to road kill. The very concept of getting a non-government-related job is anathema to the dogma of liberalism. Liberals-who see themselves as victims of those who actually work for a living, create jobs and amass personal wealth-believe producers should provide for them.
Producers-or conservatives, as we refer to them-are, in their opinion, evil but not too evil, lest the producers stop producing and giving money to the vultures. No, producers are a necessary evil-a focus for liberals to rally around and demand an ever-increasing percentage of what producers produce for no other reason than their belief that it is the right thing to do.
To give credit where credit is due, liberals are better at playing this game. They even have a farm league to train future generations of blood-sucking, conservative-bashing, lie-weaving liberals. It's called the university system. Liberals get degrees in political science, sociology, women's studies, philosophy and environmental science. Young conservatives major in economics, business administration, marketing, engineering, chemistry and such.
They're even different in their collegiate social networking. Liberals join organizations such as the ACLU, NOW and MoveOn. They have small group gatherings where they smoke dope, munch Doritos, hypothesize on the most effective way to implement social engineering and do yoga.
Conservatives join fraternities and sororities, drink a lot of beer, eat a lot of pizza, play coed intermural football and make a bunch of friends that will one day turn into important business contacts, then graduate, settle down and become the nation's business and military leaders.
Conservatives strongly believe in noblesse oblige-that they owe a debt to their country; liberals line up to collect it.
In his book, "Confrontational Politics," H.L. Richardson summed up the reason why Conservatives always seem to take it on the chin politically. He wrote, "Some conservatives still linger under the misapprehension that being right, in the sense of being correct, is sufficient to win in the public policy process. If you can prove you're right, they believe, victory will fall into your hands like a ripe fruit off of a tree."
Liberals, on the other hand, don't see it quite that way. The liberal mentality is why let the truth get in the way? Life is much simpler if you can just manufacture your own set of facts to bolster your position, then, as Bill Ayers taught them, if you say it loud enough and often enough, it becomes truth.
The very core of liberalism is the end justifies the means-truth, logic, morality or even the Constitution itself be damned. They don't want to debate issues with conservatives because they know John Q isn't stupid enough to believe most of their tripe. No, it is far easier to smear a conservative opponent in the hope that John Q will vote for anyone else but him. In a two-party system, the "anyone else" ends up being a liberal.
It's why this president has lied to John Q more than any president in history. And, let's face it, presidents throughout time have been known to spin a yarn or two.
It's why the chief law enforcement officer of the United States sees no problem in illegally selling guns to drug cartels in an attempt to gin up a case in favor of more gun control.
It's why a narcissistic, demigod priest doesn't bat an eye at suggesting a law-abiding gun store owner should be dragged into the street and killed.
And it's why a two-bit political candidate like Moira Dunn, running for state representative in Illinois' 97th District, will air a lie-filled television commercial accusing Mark Batinick of all manner of nonsense. She's in the liberal farm league, and as any farmer will tell you, if you want something to grow, it takes a lot of manure.

Brady Campaign sends out
phony fund-raising claim
A fund-raising email from the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence falsely claimed credit for Cabela's expanded use of NSSF's "Don't Lie for the Other Guy" anti-straw purchasing materials in its ongoing anti-straw purchasing efforts. Townhall.com's "Bearing Arms" writer Bob Owens took the Brady Campaign to task, pointing out that Cabela's had been working on this matter for weeks before the campaign's re-launch of "Bad Apples" initiative. Separately NSSF Senior Vice President and General Counsel Larry Keane addressed purposeful mischaracterization of what the "Don't Lie for the Other Guy" program can and cannot accomplish in his blog post, which also detailed the history of the program. In the article Owens quotes the Brady Campaign's email as saying, "Your support of Brady's new Stop Bad Apple Gun Dealers campaign is already making a huge impact! This week-just days after our court filing in Philadelphia and a huge protest at one of Chicago's notorious "bad apple" gun dealers-sporting goods retailer and gun seller Cabela's announced it would expand its efforts to help prevent illegal "straw" purchases of firearms. Your support and our demands to hold gun dealers accountable for straw purchases are making an impact!" As always, liberals don't let the facts get in the way and particularly so when it comes to raising money.

Congress introduces bill to eliminate ATF
Congressman James Sensenbrenner (R-Wisc) of the 5th Congressional District of Wisconsin has introduced a bill to abolish the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives; transfer its functions relating to federal firearms, explosives and arson laws, violent crime and domestic terrorism to the Federal Bureau of Investigation; and transfer its functions relating to federal alcohol and tobacco smuggling laws to the Drug Enforcement Administration. The bill also proposes an immediate hiring freeze at the ATF and requires that a plan be submitted within six months on how to move its activities to other agencies. The bill also calls for eliminating the agency a year after the bill's final passage. In a statement, Sensenbrenner called ATF "a duplicative, scandal-ridden agency that lacks a clear mission. We can do the same job more efficiently for less," he said. "At a time when we are approaching $18 trillion in debt, we need to demand accountability within our federal agencies and to take a closer look at cutting waste and redundancy." The ATF has come under fire in recent years for ill-fated operations, including Operation Fast and Furious in Arizona and Operation Fearless in Milwaukee.

House intros resolution decrying microstamping
U.S. Rep. Doug LaMalfa (R-Calif.) has introduced House Resolution 732 intended to express the sense of the House of Representatives that mandates imposed on manufacturers requiring inclusion of unproven and unreliable technology in firearms is costly and punitive and that the prohibition of firearms without such features is an infringement on the rights of citizens under the Second Amendment. The National Shooting Sports Foundation worked closely with Congressman LaMalfa to draft and introduce the legislation in defense of industry members, specifically those harmed by California's state mandate on new semiautomatic pistols. In part the resolution states, "based on the current state of this nascent technology, it is impossible to microstamp a firearm in two locations and have the required identifying information imprinted on the cartridge casing when fired as would be required by the law." It also cites anecdotal reports that the impressions are not decipherable nearly 50 percent of the time and the microstamping process is costly and time-consuming, and threatens the employment of thousands in the firearms industry. |
NBC offers repellent advice
on appeasing home invaders
What next, stop using deodorant, hoping killers won't want to get near you? The never-ending litany of bad advice marches on. Last year the University of Colorado suggested female students facing rapists should employ passive resistance, biting and self-degradation to avoid being victimized. When the University was questioned about a bill it supported to ban the lawful carrying of firearms on campuses, officials discounted it and said, "that's why we have whistles." Taking that idiotic philosophy a step further, NBC's Today Show recently offered suggestions on how to deal with violent home invaders. Former NYPD detective Wallace Zeins, whose New York City pedigree was evident in his recommendations, instructed viewers to use their vehicles' key fobs as a makeshift alarm. Following that, the former detective told the audience to keep a can of wasp spray in the bedroom to use as an improvised chemical weapon against a violent intruder. Further, the report suggested abandoning one's home to the intruder as soon as possible. If captured by a violent home invader, Zeins's advice was to comply with the attacker's every wish and to never lie to them. Someone once quipped, "If you look like food, someone is going to eat you." [Source: NRA/ILA] |
