Mealspec has unveiled its new Gen 2 Cooking Bag capable of cooking an entire meal in one container. Utilizing the same technology as the company's Gen 1 Heater bag but improving the maximum temperature duration was key in the new Gen 2 Cooking bag which can accommodate most frozen dinners with its larger dimensions. Using only water as a catalyst, the Gen 2 quickly rises to an impressive 220 degrees Fahrenheit in just under a few minutes and remains at a safe cooking temperature lasting up to 60 minutes, ensuring a meal is fully cooked and not just heated. The 11 x 13-inch bag has an initial reaction in 15-18 seconds, run time up to 60 minutes, medial temperature 190 degrees with peak temperature of 220 degrees. O Say, Does That Star-Spangled Banner Still Wave?

David A. Lombardo

Kudos to Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal who summed up the conservative point of view very nicely recently when he said, "I am tired of the left. They say they're for tolerance; they say they respect diversity. The reality is this: they respect everybody unless you happen to disagree with them. The left is trying to silence us, and I'm tired of it. I won't take it anymore."

Recently Chicago Tribune liberal Rex Huppke wrote an editorial in which he acknowledges the Democrats are likely to take a significant hit in the upcoming election. He then went on to preach to Republicans what we need to do to win the election and set forth nothing more than a soft version of the liberal agenda. Even when facing potential defeat, liberals continue to be pompous asses who think they know better than anyone else.

I mentioned it to a liberal acquaintance of mine, who said, with great disdain, "You conservatives have lost touch with reality. What the hell do you want?" I've been thinking about that ever since, and I'll tell you what I want.

I want people to be able to say what they think and not lose their jobs or make the front page of the paper because they're politically incorrect. I want to have full use of our native language without fear of the government putting me behind bars or some organization forcing me to sell my sports team.

I want to be able to walk down the street at night without having to carry a gun just in case, but I want the right to carry that gun anywhere I choose because the notion that the government will protect me is a joke.

I want to be able to pursue a business and rise or fall on my own merits without government intrusion, and if I fail, I don't want anyone trying to convince me it was someone else's fault and that I should sue them.

I want to pay taxes that do good for my community and country; I don't want to pay taxes to support someone who's too lazy to get a job and complains all day that the government gave them the wrong smart phone and their subsidized, three-bedroom apartment isn't good enough.

I want to see a Christmas tree back in the town park and a Star of David and other symbols that indicate the people in my town are comfortable in their beliefs and those that don't have religious beliefs will respect mine. I want to say Merry Christmas or Happy Hanukah and know that people understand I'm wishing them well and that's okay.

I want America to be the big shoulders the rest of the world can count on. I want to get that lump in my throat when I see one of our nuclear-powered aircraft carriers rendering help after some tidal wave, hurricane or earthquake wipes out a town in some third world country halfway around the world.

I want to stop sending our young to fight and die in that third world country where two nut-job factions hate one another and the only thing they agree upon is that they both hate Americans.

I want other countries to look upon the United States as the best friend they could ever have and know that we can also be their worst nightmare if they cross the line.

I want to see real, hard-working, honest people elected to public office-people who will do what's right for the country they love.

I want to be the one that decides how I spend my money and where I get my health care.

I want people to be able to live their lives as they see fit and free of hatred, as long as they're not harming someone else in the process.

I want to see friendly cops walking a beat, saying hello to neighbors, not driving by in Ninja suits in an MRAP.

I want to see everyone, regardless of race or religion, have the opportunity to pull themselves up by their bootstraps and make something of themselves without some self-important, self-appointed jerk telling them that white, middle class Americans are responsible for their misfortune. I want to be able to hold my hand out to help them; not have them hold out theirs for a handout.

I want to see people immigrate to this country for a chance at a better life, but I want to see them come here legally, learn the language and become Americans.

I want to see oil rigs around our country where there's oil to be had, and screw the third world potentates who bleed us for their oil while supporting terrorists who are trying to annihilate us.

I want to see the price of a bushel of wheat tied to that of a barrel of oil; let them eat sand if they don't like it.

And for God's sake, I want to see a president who isn't constantly apologizing, who believes he lives in the greatest nation on Earth, is proud of our accomplishments and won't take crap from anyone, anywhere, ever.

Reid to introduce more

gun control legislation despite lack of votes

The NRA Institute for Legislative Affairs reports that gun control activists have recently renewed their efforts to gain ground on Capitol Hill. They use grieving victims to falsely claim that enacting their "reforms" would have prevented these tragedies. Anti-gun groups sponsored by former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg are trying to convince Congress to enact their proposals.  And as we saw this week, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) wants to help them do just that. Reid said Tuesday that he may call for a vote on universal background check legislation. Reid admits he doesn't expect it to pass, but he's looking to highlight the differences between the two parties when it comes to gun control. "We need some more votes," Reid said. "But it may be good to bring this up just to send the American people another message about how 85 percent of the American people can agree on one thing, but it doesn't mean a thing to the Republicans here." The current push by the anti-gunners is all the more disingenuous in light of the fact that some anti-gun activists themselves have acknowledged that their proposed solutions won't work.  This week Mark Glaze, the former executive director of Bloomberg's anti-gun group, admitted that "nothing we have to offer" would prevent mass shootings. Liberals angry over SC law

to teach Constitution at universities

Liberals have yet another thing to hate: South Carolina. The Republican-controlled legislature insists that state universities teach students about the U.S. Constitution and other founding documents. The SC House of Representatives had recently cut funding for two state universities that had required students to read homosexual-themed books. This month a revised budget restored the funding. But the renewed funding had strings attached. The new budget stipulated that the money was to be used "for instruction in the provisions and principles of the United States Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, and the Federalist Papers, including the study of and devotion to American institutions and ideals." Critics of the legislation said that Republicans were attacking academic freedom. As a compromise State Republicans added a provision for schools that have a mandatory reading schedule to provide an alternative in case required books conflict with a student's religious tenets. Governor Nikki Haley decided not to challenge the budget plans but said she didn't necessarily fully agree with it either. "I don't believe legislators should micromanage our boards. They elect board members, so if they want to beat up on them, go for it...but to go in there and micromanage books being read, I think that's out of our purview," Haley said. Bloomberg's top henchman admits

gun control wouldn't stop mass murderers

Mark Glaze, who just resigned as executive director of Michael Bloomberg's Mayors Against Illegal Guns (MAIG), now says that the gun control restrictions MAIG supports are "a mismatch" where crimes committed by mass murderers are concerned. "It is a messaging problem" for gun control supporters "when a mass shooting happens and nothing that we have to offer would have stopped that mass shooting," Glaze told the Wall St. Journal. Eighteen months ago, however, Glaze was singing a different tune. "The single biggest problem that the [Obama] administration can solve is making sure every (firearms) buyer gets a background check," he said. Exaggerating the numbers even more than President Obama did a few months later, Glaze claimed at the time, "Nearly 50% of buyers never get [a background check], and that is the dominant problem in gun policy in this country." The Bureau of Justice Statistics has reported that most criminals imprisoned for gun crimes obtain their guns from theft, the black market and acquaintances. None of these methods will be stopped or hindered by the requirement of additional background checks.  Second, the BATFE has reported that nearly half of illegally trafficked guns originate with straw purchasers-people who already defeat the existing background check requirement by buying guns for criminals who cannot pass checks.  And third, the FBI has reported that more than 200,000 guns are stolen annually (obviously without any background checks). Gov. Hickenlooper says

Colo mag ban not his fault

Backpedaling as only a politician can do when he discovers he backed a loser, Colorado's Gov. John Hickenlooper (D), who signed his state's 15-round magazine limit into law in 2013, is trying to absolve himself of responsibility for his decision.  This is the same politician who last year claimed that the banned magazines "have the potential to turn killers into killing machines." Earlier this week the Denver Post reported that Hickenlooper is now insisting that he signed the legislation only because "one of my staff had committed us to signing it." He added, "no one in our office thought it would get through the legislature." With the story developing, Fox News reported that during a meeting with Colorado sheriffs, Hickenlooper went so far as to blame his staff for not anticipating public opposition to gun control.  He also faulted his aides' inability to effectively communicate with the public. Even fellow anti-gun Democrats aren't buying it, though.  Rep. Rhonda Fields, who sponsored the magazine ban in the state's general assembly, denies Hickenlooper's claim and says she was told just to "count votes." Digging himself deeper into a hole, Hickenlooper also claimed that he signed the magazine ban without knowing two key facts: first, that the state's sheriffs opposed it, and second, that Coloradoans already owned an estimated 300,000 magazines capable of holding more than 15 rounds.  Colorado sheriffs have refused to enforce the new ban.  Besides recognizing that it violates the Second Amendment, they note that newly-manufactured magazines, which are prohibited, are indistinguishable from those owned before the law took effect, which are exempt. Compounding Hickenlooper's self-inflicted predicament, there's evidence that he didn't tell the truth when he claimed that he didn't consult with anti-gun activist Michael Bloomberg before signing the magazine legislation and separate legislation to impose "universal" background checks on firearm transfers.  The Post has reported, "phone records unveiled by a conservative blog revealed he (Hickenlooper) did speak with Bloomberg when the debates (over Colorado's gun control bills) were at their peak."
