The NRA Basic Pistol Course is a beginner's course that includes both classroom and shooting instruction on the range.

Students learn NRA's rules for safe gun handling; pistol parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from the bench rest position, and two handed standing positions; cleaning the pistol; and continued opportunities for skill development. Beretta U22 Neo .22 caliber semi-automatic pistols and ammunition are provided. These pistols are easy to operate and have minimal recoil.
