Allegiance Ammunition is offering its PowerStrike lead-free frangible ammunition components. The 50 round, vacuum-sealed packages are available in 9mm (90 grain) or 5.56/.223 (52 grain) projectiles. PowerStrike is designed to penetrate light barriers such as glass, wood, heavy clothing, and bone. When it hits softer, fluid filled tissue, it will break into lethal minute particles creating a wider wound cavity, resulting in severe shock trauma to the central nervous system of the soft target," says Jeff Mullins, Allegiance Ammunition CEO "These bullets are ideal for self-defense, LE and hunters because of the performance enhancements with powder metal technology."

Editorial: It's all about the children

as long as the children fit the agenda

David A. Lombardo

I'm a little confused. The anti-personal protection crowd keeps beating the drum: "It's all about the children" which, in my opinion, is a worthwhile sociological position to take. However, in practice it is all about the kids provided the kids are harmed in some way and it moves the left's agenda forward. Liberals are more than happy to throw a child under the bus if they fly in the face of liberal agenda.

Such as the story that broke last March about a seven-year-old Baltimore, Maryland student who was suspended for two days for chewing a breakfast pastry into what a teacher thought looked like a gun.

The child, apparently as devoid of artistic talent as political savvy, said he was eating a strawberry pastry during snack time and was attempting to bite it into the shape of a mountain. The teacher, equally devoid of artistic appreciation, common sense and love for his students, carted the kid to the principal's office for disciplinary action - specifically a two-day suspension from school.

As if that's not bad enough, the school administration sent a letter to the family's lawyer officially denying an appeal to have the suspension expunged making it a permanent part of the child's record. What exactly will they put in the kid's permanent record? Two day suspension for UUP - Unlawful Use of a Pastry? In my opinion, the school administration hasn't exhibited sufficient intelligence to be in the second grade let alone control the lives of second graders. You think that's bad? Consider Jared Marcum.

About a week ago, 14-year old Marcum wore an NRA T-shirt to school depicting a hunting rifle, the NRA logo and the phrase: "Protect your right." You already know where this is going, don't you?

The West Virginia teen was suspended after refusing to take the t-shirt off or turn it inside out. When he returned to school after the suspension, again wearing the same t-shirt, he was arrested. The Logan County, WV Police Department initially claimed the 8th grader was arrested for disturbing the education process, obstructing an officer, and making terroristic threats. Marcum faces a $500 fine and up to a year in jail now that a judge has allowed the prosecution to move forward in prosecuting the case. Thank God he wasn't armed with a pastry.

According to Ben White, Marcum's attorney, the court documents only state that Marcum refused to stop talking which Officer Adkins said hindered his ability to do his job resulting in the obstruction charge. White stresses that nowhere in Adkin's report does it say anything about Marcum making any threats or acting in a violent manner. Which leads me to surmise if Officer Adkins was unable to cope with a non-violent teen talking he probably had one too many strawberry pastries himself that morning.

By way of an epilogue, dozens of students across Logan County showed their support for Marcum by showing up in school in similar NRA apparel resulting in no reported suspensions or arrests.

While the tentacles of freedom are buried deeper in the soil of liberalism than I may have anticipated, I once again ask the question - When are we going to take back America?

Amended suit challenges

California micro stamping law

Attorneys for the Second Amendment Foundation and Calguns Foundation have filed an amended complaint in the on-going Pena case, challenging California's handgun roster law to clarify that the challenge extends to the state's newly-activated micro stamping regulation. The case was originally filed in 2009 as a challenge to California's regulation that arbitrarily bans handguns based on a roster of "acceptable" handgun models approved by the state. The new motion addresses micro stamping, which has made it even harder to legally purchase a handgun in that state. Gene Hoffman, chairman of the Calguns Foundation, added, "California's attempt to limit the availability of handguns to her citizens is so broad that it makes it impossible to purchase the revolver that the U.S. Supreme Court has specifically ruled had to be registered to Dick Heller, whose case struck down the District of Columbia's handgun ban and affirmed that the Second Amendment protects an individual civil right." U.S. House bill would protect

Second Amendment rights

The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) has praised U.S. Rep. Sam Graves (R-Mo.) for his introduction of H.R. 2361, legislation intended to prevent states and municipalities from enacting or raising taxes or fees on the purchase of firearms or ammunition. "Congressman Graves is to be commended for introducing a bill to prevent one of the latest tactics of anti-gun politicians, that is pricing firearms and ammunition out of reach of responsible, law-abiding Americans through new taxes on the state or local level," said Lawrence G. Keane, senior vice president and general counsel, NSSF. "We believe that such taxes are unconstitutional and, in effect, amount to a poll tax on the Second Amendment. We endorse H.R. 2361." Cook County, Illinois enacted a $25 tax on new firearms purchases earlier this year and had considered a tax on ammunition, as well. Legislators in several other states, including California, Maryland and New Jersey have introduced similar proposals. H.R. 2361 is known as the Protecting Honest, Everyday Americans from Senseless and Needless Taxes Act, or Pheasant Act.

House Committee okays bill

to protect hunting on public lands [6/12] (280)

Safari Club International (SCI) thanks the 28 members of the U.S. House Committee on Natural Resources for their bipartisan vote to pass H.R. 1825, the Recreational Fishing and Hunting Heritage and Opportunities Act of 2013, today.  Further, SCI commends Congressman Dan Benishek (MI) for his leadership to advance H.R. 1825. SCI respectfully requests that this important legislation be brought to the House of Representatives for a floor vote soon. The Recreational Fishing and Hunting Heritage and Opportunities Act of 2013 will recognize the rightful place of recreational hunting, fishing, and shooting on federal lands and protect those opportunities from being closed to the public without justification. The U.S. House of Representatives passed similar legislation in the 112th Congress and Safari Club International remains hopeful to have the current bill move quickly to a floor vote for passage.  Hunters all across America are encouraged to contact their lawmakers and ask them to protect American's sporting heritage for future generations by supporting H.R. 1825.

Blackhawk works with Feds

to disrupt overseas counterfeit products

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) recently discovered two shipments of counterfeit Blackhawk products, including Serpa holsters, at the Port of Miami. The subsequent seizure was the result of an ongoing, collaborative effort between Blackhawk and CBP officials to prevent the inflow of cheap and dangerous counterfeit products into the American market. Counterfeit products create confusion in the marketplace and pose a potential danger to users. Original products produce American jobs and provide the quality expected of brand name products. This latest seizure sends a message to overseas counterfeiters that American companies will not tolerate the importation of imitation products. Blackhawk is expanding its efforts to assist customs officials worldwide to combat counterfeiting. Blackhawk extends gratitude and thanks to U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials, in particular, those working in the Port of Miami. "We would like to extend our thanks to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection and, in particular, the vigilant officials at the Miami Seaport," said Blackhawk brand director Chuck Buis.
