PistolPay, a platform for security in the trade of valuable items, is creating awareness of the benefits for buyers and sellers in using PistolPay, a pro-gun online payment service for buyers and sellers. PistolPay was created by a group of entrepreneurs frustrated by the complications of purchasing high value items online. As an example, PayPal prohibits using its platform for the sale or purchase of firearms, ammunition, accessories or knives. PistolPay is a completely transaction-neutral and non-political online purchasing system, for buyers and sellers, that is backed by its strategic partners, Merchant Services LTD and BB&T Bank.

Chicago mayor writes anti-gun ballet for banks

David A. Lombardo

Like a petulant child, Chicago's Mayor Rahm Emanuel is lashing back over being unable to get his way in his quest to ban all firearms in the universe. He has taken umbrage at the judicial system which, at least for the moment, has developed the nasty propensity for thinking citizens have the right to be armed. Worse, they believe citizens actually have the right to defend themselves against a tyrannical government as well as thugs and not just sociopathic deer.

Obviously no self-respecting liberal believes anyone should be allowed to possess a firearm for self-protection. Well, any gun totting, right wing, strict constitutionalist, that is. Of course liberals can own guns to protect themselves and their children as long as they don't tell anyone they're doing it because... well, because... Um, just because.

Absent success in disarming John Q, Emanuel is taking a new tack. He's teaming up with Bank of America and TD Bank to pressure Smith & Wesson and Sturm, Ruger into accepting gun measures being offered by the Obama administration.

Talk about flashbacks - Smith & Wesson execs must have cringed with the memory of having caved in to similar demands made by Bill Clinton. The result of that episode backfired with gun owners boycotting Smith & Wesson, almost putting them out of business.

Emanuel, who as hard as this may be to believe, once had a budding career in ballet, envisions the Chicago/bank relationship as a pas de dux. As an intricate movement with two sides in close harmony. Well, close harmony may not be the best choice of words; it's more like extortion.

Emanuel has enlisted a gaggle of liberal mayors to join ranks and threaten the banks to withdraw all their government money. It is a move that could potentially cause the financial ruin of the bank. Now there's a heartwarming story of how big government works hand-in-hand with the private sector: Do what we want or we'll crush you. Sounds more like opera than ballet, which leads one to wonder if Chicago's Godfather can sing as well as pirouette.

In the relatively short time he has held the position of number 55, Emanuel has, in the best tradition of Chicago politicians, managed to lateral arabesque from mayor to thug.

Texas Senator Ted Cruz, who obviously has no appreciation for ballet, sent a letter to both banks and the Godfather. In an apparent attempt to find some common ground with the Godfather, Cruz assumed the ballerina's third position with arm, not to mention middle finger, extended toward Emanuel. He then issued an official invitation to the banks to move to Texas where they will be appreciated and further admonished the Godfather to "keep efforts to diminish the Bill of Rights north of the Red River." I would echo that sentiment but alter it slightly. I suggest he keep it north of the Chicago River.

Senate Holds First Hearings

of 2013 on Gun Rights

On January 30, the U.S. Senate Judiciary committee held a hearing entitled, "What Should America Do About Gun Violence?" The NRA's Institute for Legislative Affairs has renamed it, "How Do We Attack Second Amendment Rights?" It consisted of a single panel that included NRA executive vice president Wayne LaPierre, Second Amendment scholar David Kopel, attorney Gayle Trotter, Baltimore County, Md. police chief James Johnson, and Mark Kelly, the husband of former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords. (Rep. Giffords made a brief opening statement to the committee before the other witnesses took their seats). Anti-gun politicians such as Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), who has introduced a near total gun grab bill, Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), and Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) all made the same emotion-laden arguments they have made for decades on why government should infringe the Second Amendment rights of the American people. As always, they failed to provide any rational evidence that the so-called solutions they are proposing--a massive new gun and magazine ban and banning the private transfers of firearms--would reduce ordinary street crime, let alone stop the kind of tragedies that have recently shocked our nation. The NRA's Wayne LaPierre stood firm in the face of repeated calls for more gun laws. In his testimony, he made clear that the NRA would not go along with any new restrictions of the rights of law-abiding Americans. "Law-abiding gun owners will not accept blame for the acts of violent or deranged criminals," he said, "nor do we believe that government should dictate what we can lawfully own and use to protect our families." West Virginia Citizens Defense League Joins Firearms Policy Coalition

While the U.S. Senate held hearings on new federal gun control proposals, another prominent Second Amendment rights group joined the fast-growing Firearms Policy Coalition, noted managing director Brandon Combs. In addition to the existing Coalition representation in Washington, D.C., California, Florida, Hawaii, Illinois, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and Texas, West Virginians now have the backing of FPC's innovative and dynamic cross-state gun rights advocacy platform. "The West Virginia Citizens Defense League is pleased to partner with the Firearms Policy Coalition in the defense of our rights," commented WVCDL president Keith Morgan. "We recognize and support the need for nationwide cooperation in this critical fight." Gun rights organizations interested in joining the Coalition should contact FPC at info@firearmspolicy.org or through the contact form at http://firearmspolicy.org/contact. In less than 3 minutes, you can use all of FPC's powerful advocacy tools and fight back against new gun control laws at http://firearmspolicy.org/take-action. Individuals can join and donate to FPC's member organizations at http://firearmspolicy.org/join. [Source: Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms]

NSSF takes action on

Southwest border straw purchases

As part of an ongoing national effort to help prevent illegal straw purchases of firearms, the National Shooting Sports Foundation is reminding the public along the Southern 020113b border in Texas and Arizona that stiff penalties are in place for individuals convicted of such purchases. Radio and billboard advertisements for the Don't Lie for the Other Guy program are being aired by NSSF in English and Spanish in the El Paso, McAllen/Brownsville and Laredo, Texas markets, as well as in the Phoenix and Tucson, Arizona area. The message: "Buy a gun for someone who can't and buy yourself 10 years in jail. Whatever you do . . . Don't Lie for the Other Guy . . ." More than 130 million media impressions will be delivered from January through March through the public-education program, which is being funded by the firearms industry. "Don't Lie" is a cooperative program between the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and NSSF. "Our goal is to raise awareness among residents of Texas and Arizona that there are serious consequences for illegally straw purchasing a firearm," said Stephen L. Sanetti, NSSF president and CEO. "This warning can help deter an illegal purchase long before a person steps into a licensed retail store."

NRA's Eddie Eagle GunSafe Program

Reaches 26 Millionth Child

The Eddie Eagle GunSafe Program, NRA's groundbreaking gun accident prevention course for children, has achieved another milestone by reaching its 26 millionth child. Created in 1988 by past NRA President Marion P. Hammer, in consultation with elementary school teachers, law enforcement officers, and child psychologists, the program provides pre-K through third grade children with simple, effective rules to follow should they encounter a firearm in an unsupervised setting: If you see a gun: STOP! Don't Touch. Leave the Area. Tell an Adult. "The Eddie Eagle GunSafe Program has received thousands of stories from parents and teachers demonstrating how tragedies were avoided thanks to our program," said Kyle Weaver, NRA Executive of General Operations. "Firearm-related accidents among young children have been on a steady decline since NRA launched the Eddie Eagle program. It's a testament to NRA's commitment to child safety and Eddie's lifesaving message." Volunteers for the Eddie Eagle program might come from diverse backgrounds, but they share a commitment to protecting children from gun accidents. Those involved include teachers, NRA members, law enforcement officers, community activists, private donors and Friends of NRA volunteers who raise funds to pay for the program's educational materials.
