Starry Starry Night at Thorpe Vineyard:
Story Slam, Poetry and Star Gazing!

August 15 at  8pm | September 5 at  7:30pm
September 19 at 7pm | October 10 at  6:30pm
Free Admission

Evening Schedule:

Story Slam & Poetry: Share your own story or poems with us. There is a jar in our Tasting Room to drop your name in to participate. One at a time the name is drawn for the presentation that should be no more than a few minutes long. Your masterpiece must include something about "stars" --- astronomy, astrology, the sun, the moon, our planet, etc. as this is the Starry Starry Night. Audience is welcome. When all the presentations are finished, everyone casts a vote for the best performer of the night, who WINS a free bottle of wine!

Learning the Stars & Constellations: Fumie then hands out a star chart and talks about the celestial bodies we'll be visiting shortly. She plans to introduce some Eastern star tales she grew up with along with Greek/Roman mythology associated with the constellations to be observed.

Star Gazing!: Now we are ready to walk out of the Tasting Room for actual star gazing. See how many constellations you can find! Fumie will be there to guide you. Bring over your binoculars, lawn chairs, blankets to lay on --- anything to have an enjoyable experience!

Notes:
  • Please dress appropriately; long pants and bug spray would be a good idea. Sneakers or walk shoes/boots are recommended as the lawn will be likely wet from the dews.
  • We won't do any wine tasting once the presentation starts; however, wine will be available for purchase by the glass/bottle.
  • The Star Gazing will be weather permitting, but the Story Slam and Poetry will go on regardless the weather.
